Chill Day

So this morning I got up at 6 as I went back to sleep after my 5 am alarm then was unable to get my son up so I had a shower and got dressed and then went back to sleep until about 10:30 when I got up and started getting my son moving!

I did remember to do my weigh in and I am down to 102.5 kgs today so still too heavy but moving in the right direction I suppose!

At about 11 am we loaded up the hire van and drove to the track and did about an hour messing around. The 175 mm DXR’s were much better than the 180 mm’s so I deffo made the right choice dropping back down tho them. My pedal strokes felt just right so I am ready to make a start at sprints this week.

When we got home we put the GT in the garage and grabbed the OS20 rims ready to get built up when the Profile hubs arrive next week. Once the wheels are built the OS20 will be ready to be built up.

I am going to get the brake caliper off of the DK later today and finish building the Cult so that I can ride to work on it in the morning after I drop the van off at the rental place.

So i tool the caliper off of the DK and found a spare cable but unfortunately I have miss placed my cable cutters so I can’t actually cut the cable so I have bought another pair that will be here on Wednesday so until then I will have to use the Standard 24″ to ride about on as well as do sprints on! To be honest the Standard is a more complete bike as it has been tested and is all good so I know that I will at least get to work in the morning! The Cult still needs Burgtec MK4 pedal (on order) and the brake dialling in so its not really ready to ride anyway so its better to hold up until all the parts and tools arrive and get it all set up properly!

I was browsing Marketplace today and the van that I was looking at has dropped from £2200 to £1200 so I have messaged the owner to see if tis still for sale. If it is I will try and look at it later in the week as van is much more practical than the car. I am thinking that I may keep the Honda for my Son to drive and then I can use it when I need to go into town and then the van can be for BMX as it has to pay to go into town I think. If I get the van then the Cult and probably one of the other bikes can live in the van along with my boot tidy and all of my shoes, body armour and a couple of coats then they are always in the van.

While I remembered and they were on offer I also bought a couple of pairs of 100% Brisker gloves for my son and I for the winter as we both have super thin lightweight gloves at the moment so we will need to switch soon to winter gloves! I also bought a set of DMR Brendog grips for the Cult as it will be used to ride to the office a lot and the gym when I start back again so I want to be able to ride it with no gloves if needed so the Brendog grips are the best grips that I have found for that. Also the ODI Vans grips on it at the moment have throttle grip on both grips which is really annoying and the Brendog’s will solve that too! The only colour they had was Galaxy which basically looks like a black grip with dandruff from the photos but they will do for me!
