Busy Morning

My alarm rudely woke me up at 5:30 this morning which is the first time this week that I have had to use the alarm to wake up as I have woken up before the alarm all week! I almost turned over and went back to sleep but I managed to talk myself round and I got up and got ready and left for my walk at 6am this morning as I procrastinated by trying to find a monitor cable for my raspberry pi before I left for my walk! I found the cable and went for my walk too so all good.

I walked the same route as yesterday but somehow walked further at 2.64 miles and 5524 steps in 45m 7s compared to 2.62 miles 5496 steps in 45m 44s yesterday. As soon as I got home I got my work pass and a pen drive that I needed to boot a laptop with and got the ebike and rode to the office, booted a laptop off of the usb drive and checked that I could connect and then rode home. Weirdly I met the same 2 women running with their dog and had to stop for them in a narrow part of the footpath both ways which was odd and what are the odds of that happening? Especially by accident! The ride to the office and back was 3.54 miles and it took me 19m 5s and I gained a lofty 78ft in total 🙂

The ride was fine and the new brakes have bedded in and are now working really well so I am glad that I bought and fitted them now 🙂 On the ride to the office I tested my shoulder doing a manual bonk on a raised bit of the path and I felt no pain so the weights are definitely working 🙂

Walking wise I have increased the number of steps that I do every day this week so I now need to stop being lazy and get the 11000 steps a day done every day from now on!

I am already over the 6000 steps today (6840) so I am going to go for a walk at lunch time to see if that helps make me more awake in the afternoon or not as a walk is easy to do even when I am at work so I may start taking a walk at lunch times as well to get me to the 11000 steps a day target and also get me out of the habit of lunching on the sofa watching TV all lunch hour and getting really lazy and not wanting to get back to work after lunch! I am hoping that walking at lunch time will get me energised and focused to work during the afternoon.

I can basically do my short walk on the 2 tunnels and that should take about half of my lunch hour and basically get me to the 11000 steps total for the day as well. I plan to do the walk before I eat so that I have done 2 walks a day in a fasted state which is apparently better for fat burning so we will see.

I am currently waiting for my Barbel to be delivered so I can then start to re-organise my gym area so that I can start working out properly in the mornings after my walk.

When I finish work this afternoon I need to build up my Dialled Cruiser to lend out to a friend and also fix the back wheel on my DMR ready to ride it tomorrow. Depending how I feel in the morning tomorrow I may also do a coaching session as well as gates 🙂

I was just going to go out for a lunchtime walk and then I remembered that my Barbell was being delivered today between 11:00 and 14:00 so I needed to stay home. I decided to have one last chill lunch time and start the walking at lunchtime from Monday as I have BMX tomorrow at this time and Sunday I may well go to Exeter to watch some of the racing.

The Dialled is now built up and I am pretty happy with how it turned out. I could only use a chain tensioner on the drive side of the wheel as the disk adapter took up all of the dropout but it should be fine as the drive side is the important side anyway.

At some point I want to get a cable actuated hydraulic disk brake like I have on the ebike so that I can use the cable brackets on the frame but other than that the bike looks good. I also have a Dialled Bikes graphic to go on the frame to take away a bit of the yellowness of the frame. I will walk the bike up to the container in the morning then I can bring the NS home and put it in the garage then walk my DMR up to the track so that I can ebike up to the track later for training as I don’t want to take the car tomorrow.

I am going to chill for a bit now then I will get the DMR off of the wall and onto the work stand to get its back wheel straightened up and see if I can get a chain tensioner on there to stop it moving again!
