Bought a 2023 Inspyre Evo Disk Cruiser

Inspyre

2023 Inspyre Evo Disk Cruiser

I have had a really good weekend riding my jump bike first at Bath track Saturday afternoon in the rain 🙁 which was fun as I was on the bike BUT the weather was terrible so not so fun. Today the weather was much better and I spent most of the morning at Bromham pump track and met up with some friends from Bath club which was great fun too.

I did a fair bit of riding but I am not really getting on with the Jump bike so when I got home I was looking online for wheels to get my Dialled Cruiser built up when I noticed that the 2023 Inspyre EVO disk Cruiser was only £675 and has the same wheels that are £450 to buy on their own so I bought one to ride this year until I am 100% ready to race and my Curtis when it is finished.

Inspyre

I am undecided if I will ride the Inspyre as is or if I will put the bit from the Inspyre onto one of my other frames but at the moment I think that it makes more sense to leave the Inspyre as it is and ride it like that as I don’t have to worry about it at all then 🙂 I am thinking that I will sell my Son’s Airdrop Fade as a complete then he can choose which bike he rides out of my Airdrop Fade or the Inspyre when he wants to ride.

I want to keep a jump bike as when my shoulder is a bit better I want to start jumping so the jump bike is the best option to learn on and then once I have it down I can move to the BMX and get it down on that too.

The Inspyre is basically going to live in the container so it is always there when I need to use it. I am thinking that I may swap the frame out for my Dialled frame as I was riding my friends Dialled today and I really liked the way it rode and it made me miss the Dialled a bit.  My idea is to use my universal disk brake adapter that I was using on my Meybo frame and convert the Dialled to disk brake and then build it up with all the parts from the Inspyre and sell the parts that I don’t like or want to use to get some money back.

Today I also sold my 20″ Dialled MX20R frame and the wheels from my Inspyre 20″ that I have basically stripped for parts. I am going to sell what’s left of the Inspyre 20″ too.

I will pop into Crucial tomorrow afternoon as I am on a half day tomorrow and pick up the new Cruiser and most likely head straight to Bath track and test it out a bit before bringing it home and swapping at minimum the forks, bars, stem, grips and most likely the front tyre as its a 24×1.60 tyre on the front and back so I will swap the front out for a 24×1.75 Tioga power block to beef it up a bit! I have also bought a pair of ODI x Vans waffle grips to replace the forward grips which are too thin for my taste. Then I will ride it for the rest of the week to see if I like it or if I want to swap it with the Dialled MX24R frame or not. I am also undecided on whether I put clipless pedals on it or leave flat pedals for now.

*** Update. The bike has now had basically a new front end on it and I have gone clipless as I prefer them on the track:

I have left the standard tyres on the bike for now as they seem OK once they are pumped up so I will try them out for a bit until I can get a 24×1/60 Tioga Tyre then I will replace both tyres for Tioga ones at the same time. I need to pull the bars a little bit back when I am testing the bike as I can see already from the photos that they are a bit far forward at the moment and I am still waiting on the new grips to arrive but other than that the bike is good to go!
