I woke up with my alarm this morning at 5am but I was feeling a bit ill and had a bit of a temperature so I went back to sleep until 7am and started work a bit late as I had worked for an hour yesterday! I am feeling a bit better but not a lot.
I am planning on walking the dog to the track and back at lunch time today so that she has a good walk as I have training after work so can’t really walk her then.
I just got notification from Alan’s BMX that my Halo Clickster freewheel is on its way so that will be here in a couple days I guess then once the new external Euro Bottom Bracket arrives I can start building the GT ready to use on the rollers. I have just received confirmation that the Bottom bracket hasa been shipped as well so hopefully the GT will be all built up by the weekend ready to start the roller sessions on Monday night!
After work I had to do the on call for the night as the person on shift was ill. This meant that I arrived at the track just before 18:30 so didn’t have time to get ready before the session started. After a warm up we did gates and my gates are getting almost as fast as my clipped in gates no I think up until about the 3rd or 4th pedal when I top out but using flats all winter I am sure that I will get to be as fast on flats as I am with clips and it will improve my pedalling technique a lot for next season when I will clip in again!
I gave my ebike rear wheel and my OS20 bike to my friend who built the wheels for the OS20 as the front wheel is out of alignment and there are 3 spokes needing replacing on the ebike wheel. He thinks that I can get away with just retightening the rest of the spokes on the wheel so we will see.
I will have to use the Curtis on Thursday as the OS20 will be out of commission still!
I checked on the delivery status of the Halo Clickster and it will most likely arrive on Wednesday so I will get my Sunday Model C park bike back from the container to steal the cranks off of it to put on the GT once the Gusset Bottom bracket arrives which will most likely be Wednesday as well. I also dropped off the tyres from the GT up to the container at the track so I will swap them for the Tioga Power blocks with my friend tomorrow night!
I will have a half day tomorrow so I will try and was the GT so that it is ready to build up tomorrow night (Tyres) and Wednesday when the parts arrive as I want to get it built up ready to start HITT intervals on Monday night after work as planned. I haven’t heard about the Standard Frame and Forks today so not sure what is going on there really but we will see how that progresses further into the week. For not the GT will be fine for HITT training and as it has the same bars and grips and a similar stem it should feel pretty much like the Curtis on the rollers.
