Been really busy this week so been a bit of a struggle getting out and walk and the weather has also been really wet so I have been using the treadmill to make sure that I get my steps in most days:
So Sunday and Monday I was over 9000 steps but didn’t manage to make the 10000 steps but Tuesday and Yesterday I was over 11000 steps for the day so that made up for the lack of steps on Sunday and Monday.
Monday, Tuesday and Yesterday I got up early and and walked to the office to so some stuff and then walked home again so it was easier to get the steps in. This morning I did the same and I am already on 6909 steps and its only just 7am so its looking good to get to over 10000 steps already. I am thinking that I may up my daily steps to 12500 steps a day now that I am using the treadmill while I am working in the afternoon so I may as well do a bit more. I think that I will continue to walk into the office in the morning then walk home again so that I get almost 7000 steps in and get a lot of jobs done that I don’t have time for during the day so its a win win! It also gives me an excuse to get up so it helps to keep consistent too!
Now that I have got into the habit of getting my steps in every day and I am feeling the benefits of this I am going to switch up my focus to get into the habit of doing exercise in my lunch break as that was the whole point of starting early so that I could get a 2 hour lunch break to make it possible to go to the track and train when I am fit enough! From now until the end of January I will go to the track every day and get back into riding the BMX then at the end of Jan when the track Maintenance starts I will replace it with road bike rides to get fitter.
The fitbit step graph shows how consistently more active I have been over the past 20 days 🙂
Even with the days where I have been under 10000 steps during the past 20 days I have still managed to average over 10000 steps (10281.25 steps average) so I am super happy at my consistency at least 🙂
I have noticed over the last week or so that my fitness has definitely improved and my body hurts way less too after being consistent for the past 20 days so I definitely need to continue walking consistently when I start training BMX again after xmas! I think that walking in while working in the afternoons is also helping as its 2 hours that I am not sitting any more so I am getting less stiff from sitting all day long!
My weight has been up and down this week but it seems to be dropping at the moment so I was 0.1kgs lighter than last I was on Sunday and 0.4kgs lighter than I was on Day 16 the last time that I posted:
My Fitbit weight graph shows that I am losing weight but its not very linear at the moment but for the month I am 1.1kgs lighter so its a start!:
I am hoping that I can get below 107kgs by the end of the week so that I am actually getting some weight loss to go with the physical improvements that I am feeling from all the walking 🙂 I am guessing that when I start riding the BMX again the weight will start to fall off due to the extra muscle built and extra calories burnt as well but we will see.
At the moment I am still 22.2kgs away from reaching my weight goal of 85kgs but its a good start and to be honest at the moment I have literally just been walking and not drinking fizzy drinks! so its better than nothing I suppose and there is a lot of room too add more exercise to get to my goal faster!
This afternoon I finished work, had some food and went to bed to do some reading but fell asleep and woke up at 17:30! I then got up saw I was at about 8000 steps and setup the treadmill and started walking while I did an Ansible course on the computer as I am learning automation at the moment as my xmas/ new year skill learn so I have made an early start! I also have some Ansible projects coming up in the new year so I wanted to get a decent base knowledge before I start the new projects.
I did about 42 minutes and I am now at 13004 steps for the day so 500 steps over my 12500 goal 🙂
