Day 7 – 02/12/2023

So most of the day today I spent at Curtis Bikes having photos taken of my bike for their website ๐Ÿ™‚ The photo above is one taken with my iphone but the bike looks amazing and I can’t wait for the proper photos to be released. I am getting a copy of the originals so I will add them as a bike check when I get them as I expect them to be amazing ๐Ÿ™‚ It was super cold and foggy all day which was mental as 5 minutes down the road its was really clear and sunny!

When I got back to my parents house I had some food and then my son and myself took the dog for a walk and then headed home. When we got home we unloaded the car and then went for a walk to get my 10000 steps in for the day! I then made food and went to bed.

I got 11120 steps for the day so not bad.

The new bearing to replace the blown out bearing arrived this afternoon while we were out as did the FitBit belt clip so when I am on the treadmill I can more accurately measure my steps throughout the day.

Day 8 – 03/12/2023

I had a lazy morning and woke up at about 8 am. I decided to do a weigh-in and I was back to the same weight as I was at the start of the week 108.0 kgs. So this week I didn’t lose any weight but I didn’t gain any weight either! More importantly I kept consistent with my walking at least apart from the 2 days that I was sick! My body is also looking less fat and more toned and I now have a double chin not multiple chins like before ๐Ÿ™‚

So I have just realised that 108kgs is exactly 17 stones ๐Ÿ˜ฑ so I really have to do something about this as my weight when I was performing at my best was around 11 1/2 stones or just over 73kgs so even my goal weight of 85 kgs is a long way off of that weight. But I think it is a more realistic goal for now but the ultimate goal is to get as light as possible without losing strength. Once I get below 85kgs I donโ€™t think that weight will be an important goal as I will be more focussed on performance and training goals by then and my weight will be a minor consideration at this point. 85 kg is just over 13 stones so that should be a good weight to start performance training again! Technically I am half of my original body weight heavier than I was when I was younger and playing a lot of basketball which explains why itโ€™s such a struggle to do any kind of exercise!

This week I plan to start riding the mtb again at lunch time and also start weights in the evenings as well as I really need to kick start my weight loss and build my base fitness if I want to start training for BMX by the start of next year. I am setting a goal of dropping my weight to 98 kgs by the end of the year which means losing 10 kgs or 1.5 stones in 4 weeks.

It will be challenging but doable as long as I am consistent with my training and also cut out all fizzy drinks and watch what I eat as well.

This week by just making sure that I walked 10000 steps a day I lost 0.5 kgs while still drinking fizzy drinks and eating badly so I think by adding way more exercise and cutting out all of the bad food and empty calories from fizzy drinks I can lose a couple of kgs a week easily.

I am also going to add more walking while I work so that will be more calories burnt too hopefully ๐Ÿคž

This evening I walked my son home and then took the long way home so that I could get my 10000 steps in for the day! I walked for 1:22:34 and covered just under 5 miles and did 9590 steps for the walk. I managed to twist my bad ankle again about half way so the walk home was a bit sore but I’ll live!

I have decided to get some ankle braces to wear all the time when I get paid as I keep twisting my ankles all the time recently so the ankle braces should help! I am also going to wear them when I return to basketball as well.

I am now on 10796 steps for the day so not bad seeing that I’m was in bed most of the day!
