Back to walking and started to build the Supercross Envy V5

This morning I woke up at 5:30 am, got ready and went out for a short walk to test out my shoulder and it felt OK but got more sore as I walked. I only planned to do a short walk this morning anyway as I had to start work at 6:30 this morning anyway so it was all good. I must admit I am feeling much better after the walk this morning!  My breathing is way better and I cleared out a lot of gunk from system on the walk which is a good thing I think although it shows that there is something at home that is irritating my system which is not ideal.

Last night I started building up my Supercross Envy V5 frame up that has been hanging on my wall for over a year. I bought a new BB, Rim Tape and a headset yesterday afternoon from CrucialBMX and it arrived this morning at 8:30am so perfect service from them as usual!

At lunch time today I will start fully building up the Supercross but for Now it is on the workstand part built like this (excuse the mess behind the bike):

I’m liking the way the bike is looking built up and can’t wait to get it built up and ride it tonight after work.

I am going to use it for now with the disk brake wheel that I have been using on the Yess with a v brake as the rim has a braking surface and I can’t find a disk brake adapter to fit the frame so this is the best solution as I want to potentially race it on Sunday so I want to try it as soon as possible.

I may have to get the wheel re-built when I build up the Curtis that is currently being made or use it with a rim with brake marks on it! I think I may use it with brake marks this year and maybe get a carbon rim to try over the winter! Building the Curtis will also annoy a lot of people which is always fun 🙂

Last night I also got the Inspyre 90% built up but I am also waiting for a bottom bracket to arrive for it as the one that came out of the frame wouldn’t go it again 🙁 Not sure what is going on but I have been having loads of issues with bottom brackets at the moment after years of using the same BB’s 🙁

I also got the Dialled Cruiser partially built up so I will also sell that once its built up! My friend is using the Inspyre this season and then he will most likely buy the Yess with the parts from the Inspyre when I decide I don’t like it then I will sell the Inspyre frame on its own.

My plan is once the Curtis arrives I will sell all my other BMX frames and then have a set of practice wheels and a set of race wheels (Most likely carbon) then I can stop all this changing bikes all the time and just ride. Then I can ride it most of the time with training wheels and then swap the wheels over for race time and its like a new bike. I am also debating having a ceramic bottom bracket for racing as well then I can have a training and a race setup.

My son is happy using my DMR so I will have the Curtis and the DMR and an MTB to use as a road bike and that is it.

I am really excited to build up the Supercross as it is a super light frame and a bit longer than the Yess so hopefully it will ride better too. I am also going back to a 36×16 gearing to get used to riding it again for when the Curtis gets built as that is the gearing that works best with the Curtis. I also didn’t like the 37×16 gearing very much on the Yess so I think that the 36×16 will be the best option!

I have just finished building the Supercross and I’m super happy with it:

I will go to the track after work and have a little play on it so see how it feels. The only thing missing is some Speedline chain tensioners that I bought yesterday but I am not sure if they will get here before Sunday but the Box ones on there will be fine they are just massive.
