So this morning I woke up at 5 am with my alarm and got straight up and did my weigh in and I am back up to 108.6 kgs this morning 🙁 I then got dressed and went for a Ruck up the hill.

WhatsApp Image 2024 11 11 at 06.14.11 I had the 10 kg weight vest on and with the extra weight I am carrying at the moment it was 15 kgs or more so I was blowing out of my arse all the way up the hill! Once I got to the top I was fine but the first 1/2 mile were a struggle to say the least!

I walked 2.71 miles in 51 minutes and did 6136 steps so more steps in an hour than I was doing in a day the past week or so!

I decided to Ruck this morning instead of going to the gym as I needed a rest from riding yesterday as my legs were really sore this morning so I decided to re-instate rest day on Mondays and start gym on Tuesday instead!

I will do legs Tuesday and Thursday and Upper Body Wednesday and Fridays. Gym 4 days a week will be enough I think and if I can do it consistently then it should fine!

I am just doing some work then I will get in the shower and then head into the office for the morning.

I rode the DK into the office and it is definitely my best bike to ride to the office out of all of my bike. I don’t know if it feels so right as I spent over a year riding it basically every day when it was my race bike but it definitely is the most comfortable of out of all of my bikes to ride to work on! I may need to get a new tyre on the back as the 24 x 1.75″ power block rubs when the 24 x 1.75″ Maxxis DTH didn’t so I will get a new DTH on pay day to make the bike even better 🙂 The bike is also worth way less than my other bikes so it makes a better ride around town bike as its not worth a lot at all. The bike cost me £150 so its by far the cheapest bike that I own at the moment 🙂

At 11:45 I rushed home and waited for the for my food delivery to arrive. By the time I got home I was already on just over 11000 steps for the day so I am well over my step limit already which is a good thing as I am knackered after this mornings ruck so will probably not do anything else for the rest of the day 🙂 As the ruck has taken so much out of me I have decided that I am going to do that every morning for the rest of the month and start back at the gym in December instead when I will be in much better shape than I am at the moment and the weight training should be way less of a shock to the system by then!

I am hoping that this will mean that I can get into the habit of waking up and walking again first thing then adjusting to going to the gym a few times a week should not be too much of a change after 3 weeks of rucking every day! I am really surprised how much my arms hurt after early morning rucking sessions as well as how much I feel my abs too and how it really seems to improve my posture really quickly when I do it!

I will have to see how much I lose on the scales over the next few days but I am expecting for the weight to drop off pretty quickly as I am working really hard with the walking up hill and also carrying the extra weight! My ankle is really sore at the moment too as I twisted it a bit on my ruck but I think it should be fine by the morning so not a massive deal! Weirdly my breathing also feels much easier after the ruck too so I have either blown out a lot of the mould from my airways or the extra exertion has really helped to make breathing at rest way easier 🙂

I am trying to eat well and so far today I have had some left over sausages from yesterday’s fry up and 1/2 a tray of chopped pineapple as well that arrived in my shopping! Before the pineapple was really craving sugar and now I am craving it way less 🙂 So I think that that may be the answer to not wanting to eat sweet food all the time and its way healthier so I will try this for now. I am just roasting a beef joint to eat for the next couple of days so I should be good for food for now 🙂

I’ve had a few really strong cravings for sweets and chocolate but I had an apple about 6 pm and not I’m feeling good again so I think I just need to eat fruit when I have cravings. I have just got my 10 minutes of backwards walking in too so I am done with exercise for today and its just before 8 pm. I have 2 hours of on call still to go then I will go to bed and sleep as soon as possible.

The way my legs are feeling today I may walk without the weight vest on in the morning but I will see how I feel when I get up as my legs could well have recovered by then.
