This morning I woke up about 30 minutes after my alarm and got up and worked until 6:30 and then got showered and dressed and went out for a ruck around the 2 tunnels loop I do.
It felt really good getting out and rucking after being pretty much sedentary for the pat 5 days or so! The ruck also undid all the stress from on call last night and my morning triage of the on call this morning too as nothing was working yesterday at all 🙁
Other than walking and cleaning I don’t think that I will have much else on today as I have a meeting with the council at 2 pm at the jumps and then I have to go to my parents and do the cleaning that I missed last week so I don’t expect to have any time to ride at all today. I’ve also have a slight neck strain from moving servers yesterday so its better to rest today so that I can do gates tomorrow night as its the first gates session. While I am at the jumps I will also take all the old coats that I have been meaning to take the the charity container with me and deposit them on the way home from the meeting as they are taking up valuable space that I don;t have in the lounge!
The meeting with the council went really well and I was on 10159 steps by the time I got home so I should be well over by the end of the day!
I decided that I would go to my parents at the weekend as they are away all next week anyway so there is no rush to get the cleaning done.
When I cleared my afternoon I got to work on the frame and have got a lot further on the paint now! I have used 2 cans of Peel Tec now and I am about 80% of the paint removed now so hopefully by the end of the day I should be done. The wet/dry sand paper came today before lunch so I should also be able to sand the frame and get rid of the rest of the hard to reach paint tonight while I watch TV so the frame is ready to clear coat and sticker tomorrow then as soon as I get the wheels I can start building the bike up 🙂
I have just bought some wire wool that will be here tomorrow to try and get the last of the paint off on the head tube, bottom bracket, set clamp, drop outs and cable clips. Once that is done I will polish the frame a bit more and then coat it with WD40 as apparently that is easier than clear coat and slows down rusting a fair bit! If that doesn’t work I’ll clean the WD40 off and then either clear coat it or take it to powder coat. I have decided that I want the frame sky blue (RAL 1505) as below:
This is one of the original colours and its also used by Curtis bikes on their frames too and I really liked it on the frame I looked at when I was there!
