So this morning I woke up at 3:45 feeling a bit ill but managed to get back to sleep and woke up feeling a bit rubbish when my alarm went off at 5:00 so I went back to sleep until 6:00 instead of getting up and going for a walk! It was raining pretty hard anyway so I was in no mood to go walking in that anyway! I think today is looking like it will be a treadmill steps kind of day 🙂
I got up and did my weigh in and I was back down to 106.1kgs so the bike riding seems to be helping with the weight loss even if it means I am hungry a lot of the time and my hip hurts after riding 🙁 Even though I am not losing much weight I can see that my body is changing a lot so in the long run that is better than losing a lot of weight quickly and getting sick so I will take it. And as I have been saying all along I am focussed on building healthy habits not losing weight so I am doing really well as I am now consistently walking over 10000 steps (almost 3 months I all together) and I am now way more active in my lunch breaks either riding the BMX when I’m not hurt or riding the mtb on the road so I am doing way better than the scales are telling me 🙂
I am also doing a lot more around the hose now and as I have a time limit every day its not a chore any more as I know that I only have to do it for 30 minutes a day 🙂 I have found that now the flat is looking better I do more during the day to keep it clean now than I did before so thats also a positive habit! For example yesterday during the day I cleaned the washing machine with washing machine cleaner then washed the towels and put away a load of washing that was in the tumble dryer too. Then in my cleaning 30 minutes I did the washing up, made some overnight oats and organised my bedroom a bit so I got way more done 🙂
For the rest of the week I really need to make a push to get my gym area in my bedroom sorted so that I can start doing weights next Monday as I think Adding Weights to the mix will really help not only from an injury rehab/ prevention standpoint but also from a body composition improvement/ weight loss perspective as well. I am sure that increasing muscle in my wrist and ankles will really help them heal and hopefully mean that I can get on the BMX again sooner! Also Increasing Strength and working on speed with sprints will really help improve my bike speed way faster than just doing sprints will. Weights will also really help me push the higher gearing faster so in theory if I can push the 37×16 as fast or faster than I was pushing the 36×16 then I will be faster 🙂
I took a late lunch again today and went to Bitten again on the Bath to Bristol bike path. It was really wet in places but the ride was fine and I felt pretty good for once! I rode 11.55 miles in 1:03:10 for an average speed of 11.0mph so a bit slower than yesterday but I was much happier while riding today!
I have just finished work and I am on only 2936 steps at the moment so I will chill for a bit then get on the treadmill until my steps are done!
