Back to BMX Training day 16 – 16/01/2024

I woke up this morning at 4:40 without an alarm and got up and did my weigh-in and I was 107.6 kgs so down 0.1kgs from yesterday 🙂 Annoyingly my scales have decided that they don’t want to talk to the fitbit app any more so I will have to play with them later to get that working and hope that they sync at some point! The scales and the Fitbit app have been a bit crap since I got the new phone so not sure what is happening there 🙁 The app syncs more or less fine with the fitbit so its deffo something to do with the scales!

I then got showered and dressed and walked to the office did some stuff and walked home again. When I got home I was on 6298 steps so not as many as my usual route but its fine as I will be at the track all afternoon so I’m bound to get some steps in while I’m there. I am going to walk the bike back after each sprint instead of riding to try and get more steps in 🙂

I have noticed the last couple of days that there are a lot more people about early in the morning at the moment so I guess people are still sticking to their new years resolutions 🙁 Hopefully it will be back to normal soon 🙂

While I was walking I went along my sprint spot and it was icy as anything as it is on the river! So I guess early morning sprints are out of the question until it gets warmer 🙁 Its not a massive deal it just means that my lunch sessions will mainly be sprint sessions 3 days a week! Although now I am changing my training to take Mondays off and ride more at the weekends it shouldn’t make too much difference in the long run 🙂 I will most likely leave the pump track to the weekends too as its a long way to go in a short amount of time. Early Saturday and Sunday morning Sessions make more sense to me as the traffic will be much lighter than during the week at lunch times so I can cut down driving time!

Taking yesterday as a rest day was a good move as my DOMS has now gone and my legs are feeling rested and fresh ready to do sprints this lunch time and get sore all over again 🙂

I have been thinking about taking Mondays as my rest day and it makes sense as Monday is my day in the office and my new on call day so I am basically working all day! It also means that I don’t have to take a change of clothes to the office, shower in the office etc so it makes a lot more sense. As I said earlier I also can’t do sprints near work at the moment as its too icy so would be dangerous so I am not going to be able to get sprints in anyway. It also means that I can ride Sundays and not rest so I can train without being at work which is a lot better too 🙂

Having Monday means that I can walk before work, at lunch and after work so I should be able to get the majority of my 15000 steps in without needing to walk on the treadmill too much tonight.

My new transporter has just arrived so the £7 delivery was worth it 😁 I will fit it to the Curtis in a bit so I can do timed gates on Wednesday night 🥳
