Back to BMX Training day 14 – 14/01/2024

So this morning I woke up at 6 am then messed about for a bit and then worked from 6:30-7:30 then get showered and dress and went to Temple Cloud pump track as planned. I was really sore this morning so on the drive over I decided to not do too much while I was there just have a quick go around the track and then get driving timings.

So the drive there was about 25 minutes as I got stuck behind a really slow lorry and I didn’t know where I was going and the way home was only 20 minutes as I knew the way home and there was no slow moving traffic to get stuck behind. I rode the pump track for about 15 minutes while I was there and it is a really fun track. After 15-20 minutes I was hanging and had done about 10 laps which is pretty poor but is a good indicator that an hour at lunch time will be plenty of riding for now 🙂 I mainly used this morning to get used to the track and to sack up and do all the berms without using the brake which I managed for the last 4 or 5 laps 🙂 My hernia was sore on the way home so I may have to get that looked at again next week if it doesn’t settle down soon!

I am not 100% sure if I will keep using the jump bike or start using the Chase OS20 instead as I think that the OS20 may make the the track feel bigger as the jump bike feels a bit cramped. I will keep using the jump bike for now and see how I get on then in a couple of weeks I may take the OS20 to see how that feels and then make a decision.

I am now back home working so later today I will work and walk on the treadmill to get my 12500 steps in for the day as its 9:00 and I am only on 617 so far today 🙁

stuckSo at 2pm I went up to the track to meet some friends and took the Curtis again! This time I remembered my old shoes but also brought my new Adidas shoes as well. The first couple of goes with the Adidas shoes were fine then the 3rd or 4th go I went up onto the berm and found that my feet were stuck in the pedals 🤦‍♂️ Luckily I was able to grab onto the fence and my friend twisted my right foot out and then I took my left foot out of the left shoe and pulled the trainer off of the pedal and put it back on and walked to the car and put my old shoes on and then had a decent 1st straight session on the Cruiser.

By the time that I got home it was about 16:30 so I made some food and got back to work again!

At 18:00 I was still on 3890 steps for the day so I am going to walk and work for the rest of the evening to see if I can get to 12500 steps for the day!

I’ve just been walking on the treadmill for the past 15 minutes and I have just realised that I forgot to put the fitbit on the belt clip again🤦‍♂️ I have just put the belt clip on and I am now starting to eat up the steps! I’m just over 4200 steps now so a long way to go still 🙁 Luckily I have a lot of work still to do so it should be fine 🙂

So I have walked on the treadmill while I worked for over an hour and I am now on 11720 steps for the day. I have stopped for a bit as the treadmill was getting really hot and smelling of burning so I will let it cool down then try again a bit later. I have to get the bike in from the car and stuff so that should get rid of some of the steps as well.

I ended up getting 13130 steps on for the day so 630 steps over the 12500 steps I planned to do.
