Back to BMX Training day 13 – 13/01/2024

So I woke up this morning at 5am without an alarm and got up and did my weigh-in and I was the same weight as yesterday (107.9kgs) so no weight loss but no weight gain either!

I then chilled in bed until 7:30 when I got showered and dressed, loaded the Curtis into the car and drove to the track. I then did 10 x 15m alternate leg sprints and then helped to setup the gate ready for training at 9:30.

When I got home I had a quick look at the fitbit app and I was surprised that I am was on 2300 steps just from getting ready and doing sprints 🙂 I really enjoyed riding the Curtis today and it has made me think that I should get a training rear wheel and then sell the rest of my bikes and just use the Curtis. I can then keep the Onyx rear wheel for racing as well as my Chris King Bottom Bracket. I may also get a new set of DXR cranks as well then I can keep them and the rennen 36t chain ring that I currently run as my race stuff and then get a cheaper chainring and the old cranks and bottom bracket as my training kit! That way I can strip the bike down and clean it properly before National Races and put on the decent stuff and have basically a new bike for racing Nationals on! The other option which I am thinking is a better option is to keep the onyx wheel as it is at the moment and use it for training then sell the other bikes and buy some race wheels with carbon rims and ti spokes etc to race on. I am kind of liking the second option at the moment but I’m still mulling it over! I am mulling it over as one of my new years resolutions was to stop being so impulsive with purchases so to do that I am waiting a month before I actually buy anything non-urgent so I will see how I feel in a Month!

After I got my son up we went to my Parents house for the day as it was my Dad’s birthday so we walked the dog a couple of times so that my Parents didn’t have to worry about doing that! It also meant that I was on over 9000 steps for the day when I got home.

When I got home I chilled for a bit and watched as film then I got on the treadmill and walked until I got my 12500 steps and decided to call it a day to rest a bit.

I finished the day on 12543 steps for the day.

I have decided that I will continue doing 15000 steps a day during the week and then drop down to 12500 steps a day on the weekends to try and use the weekend to recover from all the weeks training!
