Back to BMX Training day 10 – 10/01/2024

This morning I woke up at 4:45 without an alarm and got up and did my weigh-in and found that I am still 107.5kgs which is good going 🙂  I then got showered and dressed and walked into the office and did some stuff then walked back home and started my normal day.

At about 11:00 I started walking on the treadmill but after about 30 minutes I remembered that I hadn’t put my fitbit on my belt clip so it hadn’t been counting my steps 🤦‍♂️  I walked until 12:00 when my son arrived from school and I made some food and after we ate we chilled for 15 minutes and then we went for a walk along the 2 tunnels and back home. I then walked on the treadmill again while working from 2pm until 4pm.

By this time I was on well over 16000 steps so I was done for the day!

I managed to swap out my on call from Wednesday Nights to Monday nights from next week so I will be able to start going to Bristol Gates sessions on Wednesday Nights to get some extra training in which will be good 🙂 It also means that I can spend Tuesday afternoons riding the bike so I will most likely start riding the pump track way more until the track is fully done. I am hoping that by riding the pump track more I will progress with my skills way faster and also build fitness as well.

I have decided that I will race the Deep south Round at Bath track even though I am not really ready as it will be the last race with the old gate so I want to say goodbye properly as it gets pulled out the day after the race 🙁

I am hoping that 11 days at the pump track will get me to a place where I am able to do a full lap of the track as somewhere near race speed! I am not expecting to win anyway so its all good fun!

I am going to get my jump bike back from my Parent’s house and take my DH bike to put in its place and then I will have the choice of riding the Jump Bike or the Curtis on the Pump Track. I really need to ride the Curtis as I haven’t ridden it for ages so I think until I race on the 21st, I will put flats on the Curtis and ride it as much as possible on the pump track and also ride it more at the track too with clips on as I haven’t clipped in for a while either!

I will ride it with the blown bearing until just before the race too so that its a bit harder then I will fit the new bearing before the race to make the bike feel better 🙂

I am off tomorrow afternoon so I may take the Curtis to the track to do my 30m sprints and then I will ride the track afterwards as well to get used to riding a cruiser again!

I am planning to walk to the office again in the morning and drop off my sprint stuff in the office and I have packed the measuring wheel and line paint to measure out my sprint distances so I can start doing sprints on the GT Pro Series 24 on Friday Morning early. By starting to do sprints first thing it will free up lunch times to train properly on the track or pump track at lunch times instead of using half of my lunch break warming up and doing sprints like I have been doing! I am hoping that this will not only get me faster and fitter BUT also lighter and leaner as my weight isn’t dropping much at all at them moment even though I have upped my steps most days this week to 15000 steps a day!

I finished the day on 16541 steps for the day so made up a bit from yesterday!
