All set for January training

So I’m all set for my added BMX training as I have just bought a dry bag for my work clothes to take to the office and some crocs to leave in the office so I don’t have to bring shoes all the time!

I also ordered a bright green foldable stool to leave at the office too and I will leave my splat comes in the office too so I don’t have to carry them around either!

Like I said before I am picking up the GT Powerseries 24 this afternoon from my parents then went the Shimano DXR brake set arrives on the 4th Jan I can get that fitted and the GT will be sprints ready!

As it’s basically going to rain from now until at least May I needed the dry bag to take extra clothes and a towel and keep them dry as well as some shoes to leave at the office so I don’t have to bring extra shoes! I am thinking that I may leave an old pair of vans at work and then keep the crocs at home so I can use them more often

I was just going to give the Vans to charity anyway so it makes sense to keep a pair and leave them at work instead of leaving the crocs there! Actually thinking about it I have a pair of Nike Jordan ones that I never use that are too good to give to charity so I will leave them in the office instead 😁 it get them out of the house and means I will wear them at least once a week so they will get used!

Today I will organise all of my shoes that I don’t want and take them to the charity shop container that is now at the top of my road so I will have way less shoes going into the new year 😁

I am now happy with my training progression for 2024 and not doing weights until February means that I will have a month to organise my flat and make a decent gym area before I start to need a gym area.

I also found my Rennen sprint timer so I will fit that to my GT as well to give me some motivation to try hard on every sprint! I’ve had it for over a year and have never taken it out of the packaging so may as well use it or it’s a waste of £15!

I will also fit the wahoo speed and cadence sensors to the bike then I can get more data as well 😁

My plan is to have an early night tonight as I’m not going out or anything and then treat tomorrow as a normal day at get up a 5am and go for a walk then come home do some more automation work then at about 11 go to the track and do my first 60m sprint session and then do some pump laps then go home get showered and changed and pop over to my parents house for some food! I will grab the measuring wheel and line paint from the container while I am there and then I can go out Tuesday morning early on my walk and measure out my sprint measurements so that I can do my 30m sprints there on Wednesday morning if I feel like it 😁

I really want to do some early morning sprints sessions this week to see how long they take so that I can get some timings for the next week when I will be working at least on the Friday Morning early! Like I said before I expect the 60m sprints to take a fair bit longer than the other sprints as you need all the recovery time in between reps when you don’t so much on the others! Especially the 15m which is basically 4 or 5 pedals only so you only feel then the next morning 🤣

As I am now in savings mode I need to get all of my spare parts up for sale to recoup as much money as possible to get some money paid off of the credit cards in time to start racing in April. Until April I am not spending any more money on BMX or bikes at all. I am also doing a no spend Jan, February and March to see if I can get at least enough paid off of the credit cards to not have to struggle to pay for all the BMX racing this year as I’m really over scrimping and saving and living paycheck to paycheck!

To that end I have deleted deloveroo and Uber eats from my phone and I have enough baked beans and heinz chicken soup to last me at least 2 weeks so I am having at least 2 weeks of eating all of the food in the cupboards and freezer before I think of buying anything other than bead to go with the beans 🤣

I also have bacon, cheese, and a load of assorted meat and veg in the fridge and freezer and 8 microwave rice sachets for stirr Fry’s so I am not going to go hungry at all 😁

As I am off for 10 days I will get into the habit of making enough food in the evening to have it re-heated in the morning then breakfast is literally 2 minutes in the microwave or frying pan compared to making food fresh. This especially applies to pasta which I can cook more and leave in the fridge then warm it up while I cook the soup for about 5 minutes so way less hassle. Also stir frys are always better re-heated the next day 😁

I am hoping that by eating everything in the house I can at least save £100 off of my food budget for the first 2 weeks of the year! I also want to make sandwiches to take to the office to eat there instead of wasting £10-15 on meal deals etc while I am in town. 6 Marmite sandwiches will cost about £1 max and fill you up way more 😁

I will also look for a 2l or bigger water bottle so that I can bring water into the office to drink on Mondays. I am thinking that I may start leaving all of my stuff in the office on Sunday nights when I walk my Son home then I don’t have to carry so much stuff with me in a Monday Morning and I can also get some weighted walking in as well 😁

I have been thinking and I think that it makes more sense to keep the GT at home and ride it to the office so that I can get there in 10 minutes not 30-35 minutes when walking then it means I have more time to do sprints before starting work 😁
