Active Rest day

I woke up late this morning even though I went to sleep just after 10pm last night so I took that as a sign that I needed to rest up a bit! My legs were also sore from the training yesterday so I think that this is the best move.

I am planning to meet a friend at the track about 6pm this evening for a bit of a ride so I am going to drag my son up and we can have a chilled jump bike jumping session to chill a bit and make a start on my jumping progression!

While I have been in bed chilling I have been thinking about my weekly training and I have decided that I am going to do the following:

Monday

AM – Walking

LT – Nothing as working

PM – Adult Coaching Session

Tuesday

AM – Walking

LT – Flat Sprints first straights (x 10-12 with 3 minutes rest) + 3-5 Box sprint pump laps sprinting to the 1st jump

PM – Tuesday Night Coaching Session

Wednesday

AM – Walking

LT – Jumping (Active Rest)

PM – OFF (Working On Call)

Thursday

AM – Walk

LT – Sprints (Uphill  x 10-12 with 3 minutes Rest) + 3-5 Box sprint pump laps sprinting to the 1st jump

PM – Thursday Night Coaching Session

Friday

AM – Walk

LT – Full effort laps (6 with 10 minutes rest)

PM – Gates

Weekend

1-2 sessions of free practice on the track or a pump track working on jumping and manuals and play on single straights to build confidence and push skill progression and make full laps easier during the week.

This program will only last another 5 weeks as after that coaching will move to Saturdays so I will have my evenings free to start working on fitness instead of doing bmx specific training.

I am thinking that Mon,Wed and Friday nights I will do theKneesOverToes training and Tues and Thurs I will do upper body weights for at least the 12 weeks of the Knees over Toes program then maybe progress to the weighted version of the knees over toes or Leg weight training instead.
