Sunday 11th May 2025
Weight = 104 kgs
Steps = 10866 Steps
So I woke up without and alarm at 5:05 and got up and did my weigh-in and I was down to 104 kgs so one day of fasting has led to about 1.4 kgs of lost weight which is pretty good! Better than the weight loss is the fact that my breathing is much better again so I think that going forwards I will not eat on Saturdays for a while to try and keep my asthma under control as the fasting seems to be doing the trick at the moment. Also the weigh control is a good idea too!
I am having a rest day today as I have to go to my parents house and do some housework, painting and cut up a tress for them too so no time for bikes today.
By 8pm I was only on 6000 and something steps so I went for a walk on the 2 tunnels to get my steps in before bed.
By the end of the day I had got a solid 10855 Steps in.
Monday 12th May 2025
Weight = 104 kgs
Steps =ย 12443 Steps
So this morning I woke up at 5 am with my alarm and got up and did my weigh-in and I was surprised that I was still 104 kgs as I at a lot of carbs yesterday including Pizza, Sweets, chocolate and crisps so I guess that the walking before bed burnt that off at least ๐
I then got dressed and put the bike into the car and went to the track and did sprints. I did 6 x 25 m and 6 x 50 m sprints as planned and used the Standard this morning to try it out. The Standard felt pretty good to be honest. Better than the Dialled but not quite as good as the Curtis as I already knew. It also has flat pedals on which I am not so keen on as I don’t feel like i get the full benefits of the sprints to be honest. I am going to start using the Curtis again as I get more benefit from just riding it to be honest so I will get the Standard on Facebook Marketplace to sell this afternoon once I get home.
I then went home and showered then walked into the office and got my step count up to 5202 for the day ๐ So I should have got my 10000 steps in by the time I walk home from the office at lunch time ๐
By the time I got home at about 14:00 I was on 11581 steps for the day and all the steps were fasted steps so I should have burnt a bunch of fat today hopefully ๐
I finished the day on 12443 steps for the day.
Tuesday 13th May 2025
Weight = 104.9 kgs
Steps =ย 22529 Steps
So I woke up with my alarm at 5 am and was hurting a lot so I decided to skip the gym and rest. I did my weigh-in and I was up 0.4 kgs this morning to 104.9 kgs ๐ย I chilled until about 6:00 then got up and showered, got dressed and then walked into the office and did some bits before heading home about 8:00. By the time I got home I was on 8538 steps already so well on the way to getting my 10000 steps in.
I have a half day today as I was on call last night and I plan to go to the track to get some full laps in then I have to help clearing out the old container as it is getting taken away tomorrow so it needs to be empty! So I should easily get over my 10000 steps for the day.
So in the afternoon/ evening I spent all my time moving stuff from the old container to the new one so no riding the bike today but we got the container emptied so its ready for the new one tomorrow. I got a staggering 12500 ish steps in while doing it too so I got to 22529 steps by the time I went to sleep.
Wednesday 14th May 2025
Weight = 104.1 kgs
Steps =ย ย Steps
So this morning I woke up at about 3:30 and decided that I hurt too much to do sprints today so I set my alarm for 7:00 but woke up at 6:30 anyway! I got up and did my weigh-in and I dropped 0.8 kgs yesterday so I am back down to 104.1 kgs this morning. I am hurting a lot this morning so I am chilling until lunch time when I have to go back to the track and wait for the new container to arrive then start getting sorted on how it will be set up.
I plan to go to my friend’s house for 16:30 and get a lift to Andover and I will try nd do gates even though I am super sore today!
Yesterday I asked for my Curtis back from my friend so I should have that back sometime this week.
So I went to the track as planned and we got the new container floor panel off and got the cabling into the new container then at about 14:30 I headed to my parents then at 16:00 I got a message to say that my friend wasn’t going to Andover tonight so I decided I will have a rest day.
I stayed at my parents until about 18:00 then headed home. On the way home I was thinking about my training so far this month and I decided that I will swap the gym sessions on Tuesday and Thursday with road bike sessions instead to try and kick start my weight loss and also make the most of the light mornings for the next 3-4 months ๐ When I got home I cancelled my gym membership. My workouts will now look like:
DAY | AM | Lunch | PM | Exercise |
Monday | Sprints | REST | REST | Sprints |
Tuesday | Road Ride | Track | REST | Road Ride |
Wednesday | Ruck | REST | Gates Andover | Gates Andover |
Thursday | Sprints | REST | Gates Bath | Sprints + Gates |
Friday | Road Ride | Friday lunch Club | REST | Road Ride |
Saturday | Sprints + Pump Track | REST | REST | Sprints |
Sunday | Slow recovery Ride | REST | REST | REST + Recovery |
So I have swapped Tuesday’s Gym for a road ride, Wednesday’s Morning Sprints for a RUCK instead as I have Andover gates in the evening, Thursday’s Gym will now be Sprints with Bath gates in the evening and Friday Sprints will now be a road ride. I have also added Sprints and pump track on a Saturday morning and a slow recovery ride on Sunday morning first thing. I will also do full laps on Tuesday afternoon as well as a pump track after sprints on a Saturday morning early!
I am enjoying the sprints at the moment so doing them 3 times a week makes sense and adding in road rides 3 days a week should also help with the recovery and also burn more fat to try and get my weight dropping significantly.
I am going to try and walk at lunch time to try and get my steps in early each day and to get out of the habit of going to bed and doom scrolling at lunch times then once I am more used to the training load I want to add rollers on Tuesday and Friday evenings after work to get used to doing them so that I can start doing roller sprints sooner rather than later!
Thursday 15th May 2025
Weight = 104.4 kgs
Steps = 6554 Steps
This morning I woke up at 4:45 without an alarm and then waited for my alarm to go off at 5 am before getting up and doing my weigh-in which wasn’t too bad at 104.4 kgs seeing I ate a bunch of crap again yesterday and also only walked half of my 10000 steps too! I then got dressed, packed the Curtis into the car and drove to the track.
I got to the track at 5:30 and rode from the street where I had to park to the track as a warm-up then did my sprint session. I did 6 x 25 m sprints followed by 6 x 50 m sprints to finish off all with 3 minutes rest in between efforts.ย The Curtis felt so much better than the Standard so I am going to sell the Standard to make room for the other Curtis that is coming back from my friends sometime this week hopefully.
When I got home I opened all the windows in the flat to get my Lรผften done and air out the house as I didn’t open up the flat too much yesterday as I was out from 12:00 – 18:00 and I left it all closed up when I got home too.
I am now 6 sprints sessions in and they are feeling much better and I can feel the second gear starting to come back which is good! I am also not out of breath at all now after sprints even the 50 m ones that Iย was blowing really hard after the first couple of sessions. I am thinking that I may increase the 50 m sprints up to 60 m soon to get a bit more spinning in. I can really feel and see the difference in my legs now which is good.
After getting home I was still only on 1137 steps so far today so I will go for a walk at 12:00 when I take my lunch to get some fresh air and get my steps in and also help with digestion after eating.
At 17:30 after being glued to the computer all day and not getting a lunch break I went to the track and sorted out all the container keys and picked up the gazebo I had a ride on the track for a bit to get some exercise in. I was really sore so I didn’t get much done but it was fun and I got a lot of fast first straights in if nothing else. This session made me realise that I need to work on my track skills especially pumping and manuals so I have decided to swap Tuesday and Friday road bike sessions for track skills instead. Then I can work on full laps and get used to trying hard for a full lap not just one straight or other!
I will start with 3 x pump laps from the start hill with no pedalling at all then progress to 3 pump laps with pedalling on the start hill and then 6 full lap burners to finish off! I will start this in the morning first thing and carry on from there.
I am also getting my other Curtis back from my friend tomorrow morning so I will be able to build that up as my sprints/ training bike and keep my newer Curtis for gates and racing.
Friday 16th May 2025
Weight = 104.3 kgs
Steps = Steps
This morning I woke up with my alarm at 5:00 and decided to take a rest day today so I got up and did my weigh-in (down 0.1 kgs this morning to 104.3 kgs) and then went back to bed until 6:30 when I got up again and showered and got dressed and then started work.
At just after 11 am my friend dropped round and dropped my Curtis off:
When my friend left I removed the Yess forks and Profile elite front wheel and put on my Onyx Ultra 20mm front wheel and Staystrong 20 forks instead. I also swapped out the 53 mm Cruip I-Beam stem for a 60 mm one so both the Curtis have the same front end. The longer stem will make both bikes have a 21.75 Inch top tube. I also replaced all of the drive chain as the one on there way weird and the chain kept sticking on the cog and chain ring so I replaced the cog and Chain ring and also the chain with a brand new Gusset Slink 3/32 chain as well and binned the old stuff! I also swapped out the 175 mm DXR’s with 172.5 mm Avian cranks as well. The bike is now dialled in ready to test tomorrow morning when I do my sprints. At some point I will swap out the crips for some ODI Vans ones but the ones on there will do for now.
This afternoon I built up the Standard up with the DXR cranks from the Curtis and put it up for sale and sold it within 20 minutes of posting to its original owner so that was good ๐
I am now getting pictures of some of the other bits that I have to sell online to get rid of them too.
