Week 16 – 13-19th April 2025

Monday 14th April 2025

As I was on holiday this week I got up early and went to Patchway for a play. I rode for about an hour and I got the first straight dialled. My legs were really sore after about an hour so I packed up and went to Stockwood for a cool down. I manged about 30 minutes at Stockwood before I was too tired to ride any more and headed home. I chilled in bed with my legs elevated until lunch time when I had my first dose of creatine to try and help with recovery from training so that I can start training every day as apposed to now where I can train heavily every few days! I decided not to creating load and instead just take a 5 g scoop with water every day instead and wait the 2-3 weeks that it takes to saturate my muscles instead as I am not in a rush and I want the intestinal distress that can be caused by creatine loading.

Other than that I spent the rest of the day in bed sleeping and watching TV

Tuesday 15th April 2025

I was hanging today so I spent all day in bed with my legs elevated sleeping and watching TV. I did re-join the gym so that I can start weight training on Monday and Friday Mornings.

I also agreed to swap my Dialled MX20R for my old Chase OS20 conversion so that I can try and convert my S&M .38 Special to OS20 to have as a pump track bike.

Wednesday 16th April 2025

I spent all morning cleaning my flat and then at lunch time I got the DMR Jump bike into the car and headed to my parents house and hoovered and mopped their house as well before heading to my friends house to get a lift to Andover to do gates.

I did also order anther set of Avian 172.5 mm cranks from Crucial so that I can have 2 bikes with 172.5 mm cranks on them.

I swapped the DMR with my StayStrong Speed and Style Cruiser that is built up with 2.10 tires and rode that instead to see if my wrist would hold up and it did 🙂 My gate times were OK but could be better:

Looking back over my historical times I actually got a pb for the gate as my previous best was 2.557 which I did on my son’s Supercross with Onyx wheels and clips. I was on flats and Profile elite wheels and I also had 2.10 PowerBlock tyres on as well so not bad going 🙂  I am not sure if it was the 2 days total rest or the creatine starting to work but I felt a lot fresher and had no leg pain at all while doing gates today which is amazing 🙂 When we got back to my friends house I grabbed the Chase from my other friend and headed home. I also got my Standard 125R 24″ back from my other friend too.

On the drive home I started to think that I hadn’t eaten since 3 pm so I may as well start my 3 day fast that I had planned to do when I booked this holiday so I didn’t eat when I got home.

Thursday 17th April 2025

I woke up when I woke up this morning as I couldn’t sleep when I got back from gates last night. When I did my weigh-in I was up to 108.9 kgs from 107.7 kgs on Monday when my scales stopped working and I hadn’t eaten for 16 hours. I was also surprised how I wasn’t really hungry once I had drunk some water to get rid of the headache I woke up with 🙂

During the day I took the Chase apart and washed all the bits and hung the frame on the wall and also built up the Standard as much as I could with parts that I had at home. I also bought a new ceramic bb from ebay to go on it as I will build it up and sell it. I also put the front wheel from the StayStong with the 24×2.10 PowerBlock onto the Curtis so that I can use it for gates.

At about 17:40 I loaded the Curtis into the car and headed to the track for gates. When I got there I setup the gate and the timing system and grabbed the Dialled from the container and put it on the car. I then did some gates and I was surprised how good I felt seeing as I hadn’t eaten for 27 hours by then. After a few warm-up gates I was consistently getting gates in the 2.3x range

With a new pb of 2.332 seconds so 0.05 seconds faster than my previous fastest time of 2.382 seconds. I was on flats when I got my previous pb time but I had a 2.10 front tyre on tonight and the last time I did gates on the Curtis with clips I was slower than I was on flats so I will take it!

When I got home I came up with the crazy idea of trying to convert the Standard 125R 24″ to OS20 for a laugh so once the BB arrives I will try it and see how it rides 🙂 I also bought some v brake extenders to be able to convert he Standard or S&M to OS20. I am going to stick the Standard out in the garage for now out of the way.
