Picked up the Curtis

So this morning I woke my son up about 9 am and he drove us to my parents house and we grabbed the Curtis and put it in the car and got some lunch at my parents and visited with them until about 4 pm then we headed home and I dropped my Son off at his mums house and then headed home.

When I got home I got to work swapping out the rear tyre on the Curtis from a Tioga Power Block 24×1.75 for a Maxxis DTH 24×1.75 so it is basically now the same as a Tioga Power block 24×1.60 tyre. I also swapped out the rear inner tube out for a Tubolito as well while I had the tyre off!

The Curtis is now ready to ride for sprints and track riding on Tuesday lunch time!

While i was walking my parents dog earlier in the day with my son we talked about his bike and we have decided to sell the Supercross and he will use my StayStrong when he wants to ride as he doesn’t really ride too often so is not bothered about which bike he rides!

I am planning to get the rear wheel on the SuperCross converted from the 15mm axle to the original 10 mm axle then I can use the Onyx wheels on the StayStrong and sell the Profile Mini wheels that are on the StayStrong at the moment  to get some more money back.

Over the weekend I also put the StayStrong Disk hubs and Shimano DXR 180 mm cranks that I had lying about on eBay to sell. I am going to leave the StayStong in the container to get it out of the flat and then it is there if I need it. The StayStrong will then be a really decent bike with Onyx wheels and DXR cranks so it will be a really good backup for the Curtis andit also has a 21.75 inch top tube which is the same as the Curtis.

Depending on how riding 172.5mm and 170mm cranks goes I may use some of the money from the parts that I sell to buy some decent 172.5mm cranks later on! As far as I can see there are only BOX, Avian and Beringer that currently sell 172.5mm cranks and the Beringer cranks are £550 which is too expensive so its between the BOX and Avian cranks which are both the same price. The Avian are basically the same as the DXR’s that I have run for years but the BOX have a 30 mm axle so are stiffer so I am not sure which to get to be honest! I guess I will have to wait and see which are available when I have money to buy them!

I also took some photos of the Dialled Pro XL 20″ to get that up for sale and I also think that I have someone who wants to buy the Dialled 24@ frame that I swapped for the Cult frame last week so I am starting to shift all the bits slowly!
