Re-thinking training again

So for the past month I have been working crazy hours and but I have managed to get my 12000 steps in every day apart from one day this month but have not really done much else as I have been waking up at 5 and starting work then riding into the office for about 6:30 and then riding home about 11:30 and then working from home in the afternoons. This has worked to a certain extent as I am feeling better than I have in a long time BUT I am not losing weight and I am not riding my bike much either! I haven’t even attempted to go to the gym in the last 2 months so I have cancelled the gym.

This morning I didn’t set an alarm and I still woke up at 4:45 without the alarm so I am going to lean into having build this habit now and I am going to wake up and ruck straight away for about an hour before I even think about anything else to get back into the habit of waking up and walking straight away.

I am basically on holiday from now until the 2nd of January so I am going to change up my morning routing to wake up and ruck in the mornings. I have decided that I am going to try and do 1 year of Rucking to see what that does to my weight and body composition starting tomorrow (20/12/2024). I think that setting the goal of doing something every day is better for me than setting the goal of doing it 5 days a week so setting the goal for 1 year every day makes it better for me.

I will also try and ride the BMX every day while I am off and try and build the habit of going to the track from 12-2pm every day during the week too. As I said before I will not do anything specific in while at the track for now but next year I will start doing sprints a few times a week again as I am severly lacking my top gear that I had when I was doing sprints regularly before! I also need to start using the rollers as well so that I can start doing roller sprints when I learn to ride the rollers!

So my goals for 2025 are basically Ruck my uphill loop first thing every day until 31/12/2025, go to the track 3 x a week and sprint then ride the track (Tues, Wed and thurs)  and ride the rollers 3 x a week in the evening (Mon, Tues and Thurs). That is it. I am not setting weight goals or anything like that I will just focus on being consistant with my exercise and see where that takes me. I think the more simplistic approach should help.

While I am off I am going to work on getting my garage clared out so that I can get my bikes back in there then sort out my flat so that I can get my weight equipment back in the house then I can start weight training in the evenings as well as I really need to start doing that too so heal all of my nagging injuries and also get more benefit from the sprints! I also need to urgently do a de-clutter again as I have so much crap in the flat that I do not need!

Next week I also need to get as many bikes as possible cleaned setup and on the internet to sell to get rid of as many as I can as I don’t use most of them!
