This morning I woke up at 5:00 without an alarm even though I went to sleep after 23:00 last night as I went on a lightweight cruiser tyre rabbit hole about 22:00 and bought some fold-able Maxxis DTH 24 x 1.75 tyres and a couple of KMC HL1 Narrow1/2 link chains as well to get my bikes dialled. When I woke up I did my weigh-in and I was down to 109.2 kgs again this morning from 109.9 kgs yesterday so a solid 0.7 kgs lost yesterday which is pretty good seeing I did the majority of my walking on the treadmill yesterday! After my weigh-in I went back to bed and doom scrolled as I thought about my training plans and I decided that I will concentrate onย training consistently Monday to Friday and then chill at the weekends and just play at gates on Saturday and a pump track or track on Sunday morning then not worry about exercise at the weekend. In fact I plan to start doing learning and blogging time on my IT blog at weekends again as I haven’t done anything for ages and its starting to annoy me and the blog is really out of date now.
So my week will look something like this:
Day | AM | Lunch | PM |
Monday | Gym Legs | REST | Finish Steps |
Tuesday | Gym Arms | Track | Rollers |
Wednesday | Gym Sled Pulls | Track | Gates Andover or Bristol |
Thursday | Gym Legs | Track | Rollers |
Friday | Gym Arms | Track | Rollers |
Saturday | REST | REST | Gates Bath |
Sunday | Pump Track/ Patchway | REST | REST |
I think by focusing on working hard Monday to Friday it will be easier to talk myself into getting up and going to the gym as on Fridays which are the hardest day for me to motivate myself I can talk myself into getting out of bed as its the last day before I can rest tomorrow so it should be easier.
I plan to not do my 12000 steps at the weekend either to stop me getting burnt out on walking and also fully rest my legs as much as possible! As I said before the rest of the year is basically me motivating myself to go to the gym in the morning before work I’m not overly worried about what I actually do while I am there at the moment! Its more important to build the habit and focus on that than what I am actually doing while I am there! The same thing with the track sessions at the moment I want to make sure I go there every day for now more than what I am actually doing. I think from now until the new year my lunch sessions will be more about learning to jump again rather than anything else. Today I will get the rollers in from the garage and I will get some 175 mm cranks and some S&M handlebars on my Son’s Supercross and I will then use his bike as my rollers bike as its sat around doing nothing all week while he is at his mums house.
I have decided that the StayStrong is going to be my winter/ Container bike and I am going to put the 24 x 2.10 Tioga Power blocks on it and slam the back wheel as much as I can with a 1/2 link chain! I have a Shadow 1/2 link chain in the parts box anyway so I will do that today and also get the Cult forks on it as well and the wheel that goes with the rear wheel on it too and then its all sorted. I may have to get a seat as it currently doesn’t have a seat but I will be able to sort something out!
Last night at 22:30 I decided to buy a replacement charger for my power washer as I can’t find mine so can’t use the power washer at the moment which is really annoying so I have a new charger coming that I can leave plugged in so that I can find it easier. When that comes I am going to clean the DK and get it sorted and up for sale and this weekend I plan to get the GT all built up as well and photos of it up for sale too. I am also going to re-thread the bottom bracket on the Dialled Pro and get that built up cleaned and up for sale too.
Once I sell one of the bikes I will get a set of Profile Mini sprag and pulls and fix the black set of Profile Mini wheels and stick them on the StayStong with the 24 x 2.10 Power Blocks to use for the winter on the StayStong to use it as my jump bike. If the StayStong works out with the bigger tyres then I will use that as my jump bike and break the Black Market down and get it professionally stripped and painted and built up to go on the wall as I really like the bike but don’t really ride it much.
Tomorrow I plan to go to my parents house after the Pump Track and grab the eBike ready to start using it to ride to and from the gym and office and once the StayStong is in the container I will ride the ebike to the track too during the week!
So I was fitting the Shadow chain on the StayStrong and it broke so I binned it and I will wait until the KMC chains arrive in the week! I will ride the Black Market today and see how it feels on the track and use it to gauge how the StayStrong will feel with the bigger tyres too! I am starting to think that if the StayStrong works as a jump bike then I may sell the Black Market and keep the StayStong as the BlackMarket is way heavier than the StayStong and with the wheel slammed I think that the StayStrong will ride better too!
I am planning on going to the pump track first thing and I will take the S&M .38 special to see how that rides but I think I will probably ride take the BlackMarket too and compare the 2. BUT if the StayStrong feels better then I will keep it and sell the other 2 and save space! I am just swapping the forks and front wheel over on the StayStrong then I will put the wheel from the StayStong on my son’s Supercross and then put the wheel from the Supercross back on the DK where it came from. The DK will then be ready to sell and I will be able to swap the cranks the Supercross for DXR’s so that it can be used on the rollers starting next week once it is washed and dried!
So I have mocked up the StayStrong up and swapped over the fork and front wheel and it looks like it will be much better with the wheel slammed when the new chain arrives so I’m good with that! The new tyres are also arriving today apparently so I will be able to get the bike all done next week and start riding it! I am really liking the black and chrome look to the bike with both hubs now chrome, the DXR cranks and DXR brake and lever top so I am happy with the way the bike is building up.
I’ll take the Black Market to the track for gates today to have a play on it and dial it in properly as the OS20 wasn’t coping with the mud very well as it has the tolerances are really tight on that frame for some reason. I guess that it is designed for a BMX track not a mud bath like the track and especially its surrounds are at the moment! It gives me a chance to play on the new step up on the second straight out of the gate too so its all good!
So at about 12:30 the tyres, impact driver and drainer arrived so I got to work putting the tyres on the Staystrong and they fit perfectly ๐
So once the chain arrives I can get the StayStrong built up and start riding it ๐ I think I want to try and ride it on the pump track too to see how if rides there too as the fat tyres will probably feel pretty good on the pump track too ๐
