So I woke up at 5 am with my alarm and I was in pain from all the exercise yesterday but I got out of bed anyway and did my weigh-in and was surprised to see that I was down 0.7 kgs from 108.6 kgs yesterday to 107.9 kgs this morning so although I am still 5 kgs or more heavier than I was a couple months ago (September!) I have dropped 0.7 kgs in a day from just Rucking and eating Carnivore again.
I then showered and got dressed then put the weight-vest on again and walked up the hill again. It was really hard from home to the tiop of the hill but when I started walking back home it was much better and the pain had gone too so I was really glad that I had made the effort to Ruck instead of taking the usual easy route of just walking instead! By the time I got home I was on 6333 steps and feeling much better than I did before I got out of bed this morning so it was deffo worth pushing myself!
I think for now I am going to Ruck EVERY day for the rest of the month to try and get as fit and burn as much fat as possible before the end of the month! I will walk further on Saturdays and walk to the BMX track the long way after doing my normal ruck to add the miles and burn off more fat and get some longer bigger hills in. I think that going to the track and back along the 2 tunnels will take my usual 2.73 mile ruck to at least 5 miles and add at least another 300 ft of hills to climb so I will get well over my 10000 steps daily goal in on one roughly 2 hour walk and I don’t have anything to do Saturday mornings as gates is about 3 pm now so normally I would fester in bed until about 2 pm which is not ideal!
On Sunday’s I will do my usual Ruck then wake my son up and drag him to a track for a ride. We really enjoyed LittleStoke this Sunday so we may do there and then go to Patchway after we have been working on our manuals for an hour or so to see if it improves on the track after all the practice on the pump track or not.
This week I have Friday afternoon off too so I will try and get to Littlestoke again for a session. I’m not sure if I will take the S&M or the BlackMarket 24″ DJ bike. I am leaning towards the S&M for now as I bought it and built it as a pump track bike so I want to see what it rides like. I have already ridden the BlackMarket and like it although I haven’t ridden it with the new bars yet but still I have ridden it before.
I am thinking that I may pop to Templo Cloud or Shepton Mallet pump tracks on the way to my parents to have a bit of a play on the S&M to have a bit of a play on it before I do my cleaning.
I am aware that I am paying for the gym but not using it so I will try and get to the gym on Tuesday and Thursday mornings before work to at least get my moneys worth from the gym membership and also work on adding as much leg strength as possible over the winter to start building power in the new year when I add sprints to the mix!
From next week the track will be open again after the 3rd berm rebuild so I can then start riding on the track at lunch times again to work on my manuals and jumping too. I think that I will ride mostly the 3rd and 4th straights for a few months as everyone who does this gets better really quickly and it will be good to get used to the new berm too 🙂
I have just swapped the grips on the S&M for ODI Vans lock on grips so it is now ready to go at lunch time. So that makes today sort of new bike day 🙂 I am getting excited to try the bike out today as I have had it a couple of months and not been able to ride it so its about time that I did 🙂
The S&M has been set up more for pump tracks and skateparks more than the track as it has bigger tyres but it might be better for my shoulder to ride it on the track too. I will see how it rides and then I can use it on the track too if I like it.
I have loads of bike to ride on the track so I may just keep it as my pump track bike. I also want to go to ramp world now and again too so it will be perfect for that too.
I noticed on Sunday that I am now used to flat pedals so riding pump tracks is feeling much less scary that it was when I was stressing riding flats as well as figuring out how to ride the pump tracks as well so now I just need to get used to riding pump tracks I guess!
