Hectic Day

So today I got up at 5 am, did my weigh-in and I was up to 103.4 kgs again 🙁 I then showered got dressed and drove into the office and did some bits there then drove home and carried on working until 7:30 when I got my cycling kit on put the ebike on the roof of the car and took the car to Trowbridge to get it MOT’ed. I dropped the car off and then rode homeon the ebike which felt super easy and was totally painless other than getting really wet as it was thunderstorms most of the way home and the belt came off a few times at the start of the ride but was fine the rest of the way home other than slipping when I went up hills.

When I got home I had to start work again straight away so I forgot to charge the ebike battery so when I had to ride back to Trow to get the car the battery was on 3 bars so I had to ride it on level one which caused the drive to slip off almost every 10 pedal rotations ALL the way to Trowbridge! When I got off of the towpath in Trow I gave up riding the bike and walked the last mile to the garage. Anyway the car past and i got home fine so it was all good! I will have to buy a new belt at some point and fix the ebike as its not rideable any more as 3/4 of the teeth on the belt have ripped off now 🙁  How I didn’t totally lose my patience and throw the bike in the canal I don’t know!

When I got home I blew the air mattress up in the back of the Hire van that I picked up before Lunch time before heading to pickup my car and we loaded it up and went to the campsite where my Brother and Friends were staying about 25 minutes from home!  I hired the a small van to avoid sleeping in a tent in the torrential rain and also to test out how it works as a BMX van over the weekend. A double air mattress completely fills up the back of the van that we hired which is a Vauxhall Combo and the engine is really powerful compared to the Jazz too! My son noticed straight away how easily it climbed the hill from home on the way to camping! its a really nice van with all the bells and whistles and my phone just worked with the Entertainment system and maps worked really well so all in all it was a good idea to hire the van. Another advantage of using the van was as soon as we parked up we were out of the van and cracking open beers so another positive for the van.

We then chilled for the rest of the night and had a really nice night!

After riding the ebike about 25 miles or so and walking a mile or so to the garage and alsos about a 2 ile walk to pick up the van I finished the day on a super respectable 22760 steps for the day which is even more respectable when I didn’t have my fitbit on until 7:30 am as it was charging!

To make the day even better the Cult Race 24″ frame and forks arrived this afternoon as did my new clipless shoes and also the bottom bracket and headset that I ordered and some other bits and bobs. I also got a message to say that the DXR’s will arrive tomorrow 🙂
