Back to BMX Training day 43 – 12/02/2024

I woke up early and did my weigh-in and was down to 106.1 kgs again so dropped weight after yesterdays mammoth session but not as much as I would have liked as I still can’t get below 106 kgs 🙁

I then got showered and changed and walked into the office and worked until about 13:00 then walked home made some food and then worked again until 22:30! A long day but I managed to get all of my steps in without having to go on the treadmill so that was good 🙂 and I got to 12703 steps and also got 2 loads of washing done as well to make up for being in bed all day Saturday when I had planned to do the washing 🙂

In the evening I had to rode the ebike to my ex wife’s house to grab some envelopes from my Son as he had bought them for me on his walk through town on his way home. I also got a chicken pie out of it that my ex made for me so it was not a wasted journey 🙂

The ebike was being a real nightmare as the brakes are not working at all and more even after being adjusted and the belt was slipping all the time 🙁 When I got home I checked the belt and found that it was basically off of the driver which explains the slipping 🙂

Screenshot 2024 02 13 at 07.50.26I have now put the belt back on so it should stop slipping now🤞🏻

I get paid on Thursday so I will buy a set of Avid BB7 calipers and disks from eBay as they are supposed to be the best non hydraulic disk brake calipers going so are the best option for the ebike as it has to use cable actuated disk brakes as it has brake sensors to cut the motor when braking which I kind of want to keep. I may also get a couple more calipers and disks to use on my Curtis 24″ and the Standard OS20 when it is built up as I don’t think you need hydraulic disk brakes on the track! And the Curtis has the cable actuated disk brake that I have on the ebike at the moment and it will fail at some point! My friend who got the same callipers for his bike has just had to swap them out as the brake exploded so I fully expect mine to go wrong at some point!

The saddle bag that I bought from Amazon arrived today and it is a bit smaller than I thought and may struggle to fit a tube and tools in it but we will see! I also found that I don’t have any 29″ tubes left so I bought a couple (One to fix the bike and one for the saddle bag) and I also bought a red set of tyre levers to go in the saddle bag so they are easy to find if dropped. I also found one of my multi tools to go in the saddle bag too! They will arrive tomorrow.
