Back to BMX Training day 34 – 03/02/2024

So I woke up and I am really aching today so I am giving sprints a miss today as I have a long bike ride to do at about 10am. I got up and did my weigh in and I am back up to 106.5kgs today so the donuts and Kinder Bueno’s I ate yesterday didn’t do me much good 🙁

I did drink a lot of water yesterday so that could explain a bit of the weight gain I suppose! But its most likely to do with all the crap I ate yesterday!

So at about 10am I woke my son up and then waited over 30 minutes while he got showered and dressed ready to go bike riding 🤦‍♂️ We finally got going at 11:10 🙁

share 4489217918705651957It took us about 45 minutes to get around the closed tunnel on the 2 tunnels and find our way back to the two tunnels again which was a bit annoying but it was an adventure at least 🙂

Once we got on the 2 tunnels again we were all good and everything went smoothly from there on! I was a bit slow on the hills but I got up them all which was pretty good and I wasn’t too winded either so that was good 🙂 by the time we got to Mells on the Radstock to Frome cycle path to meet my Dad I was pretty much done but all I had eaten all day was a Kinder Bueno on route so pretty low on fuel!

When we got to my parents house we had a full english breakfast to fuel up then about 3pm we took the dog for a bit of a walk and then chilled until about 5pm then drove home in my Parents car and chilled at home.

The ride took 2:08:48 and was 22:38 miles and we climbed 1205 ft which is pretty good for an old fat bloke 🙂 I have to say the mtb is way easier to climb hills than my road bike, the brakes are much better too as they are hydraulic disk brakes compared to cable rim brakes on the road bike and the mtb also has front suspension so my wrist wasn’t as sore as it would have been on the road bike either 🙂

It is now 8pm and I am writing this post walking on the treadmill to get my 12500 steps in before I chill for the night 🙂

I have decided that I will get 12500 steps in a day from now on as I didn’t think 10000 steps was enough now that I am getting in the habit of walking in the morning again so I will try and get 12500 a day in again and see how it goes.

I am planning on getting up early in the morning and heading to the track for a sprints session on the Curtis and maybe a bit of a play on the track too 🙂 Then we will load the bikes back in the car and head over to my parents to drop the car off then have some lunch, chill a bit then get a lift to Mells again and ride home to Bath from there 🙂
