Re-evaluating training

So for the past few days I haven’t really been putting too much effort into my training other than in my sprints! When I have been at the track I have been sort of aimlessly rising with no set plan or anything so I haven’t been achieving much!

I have decided that I am going to reduce the amount of BMX training that I do at lunch times and add a couple of road rides in instead to work in my aerobic fitness and hopefully drop some weight!

I feel that at this time of the year it is more beneficial to work on fitness and skills rather than doing full lap burners etc l. I also think that reducing the number of track sessions a week will stop me getting burnt out so much on the BMX side of things as I will reduce my BMX sessions from 6 a week to 4 a week. This will hopefully stop me just going through the motions when I am at the track!

I am also not classing my walking as training as it is something that I have been doing every day for almost 2 months so it is now a habit more than training.

So my training going forwards will consist of:

Monday – Rest

Tuesday – 60m Sprints + Track

Wednesday – Road Bike

Thursday – 30m Sprints + Track

Friday – Road Bike

Saturday – 15m Sprints + pump track

Sunday – Fun Track or Pump track Session

On my Track sessions I will work on one straight for the whole session excluding the first straight as I ride that all the time and it will be out of action for 3 weeks from this coming Monday and once it is finished we will have a new starthill and gate to play with so I will be able to get a bunch of 1st straights in then.

I also need to put flat pedals on my Curtis and work on my car park skills as a warmup too as my manuals are t getting any better until I practice them 🤦‍♂️

I have also decided that I am just going to ride the Curtis from now on and not keep switching between bikes all the time! After the deep south race on Sunday I will put some Burgtec MK 4 pedals on the Curtis and keep riding it with flats on until I start racing in April.
