So after one day of not walking my back and knees are sore as anything so I woke up when I woke up and got up and decided to see how fat I had got from pre-xmas lunch yesterday and the answer was I am up to 107.7kgs today so I have put on about 1kg in the then past week 🙁 I then went to bed and chilled for a bit and waited for the sun to come up and then took my parents dog for a walk as she was staying with me last night!
We walked along the 2 tunnels and then up the hill on the way to the BMX track but the dog really didn’t want to walk up there today so we turned back and headed home. By the time we got home I was on 5458 steps and my back and knees are feeling much better again 🙂
Looks like I will have to keep walking every morning after all!
To be fair I did 5843 steps yesterday so I wasn’t totally lazy but its not the same doing 5000 steps for the whole day compared to all in one walk!
I’m not really worried about making the 12500 steps again today but I feel much better for walking this morning and I will start doing it every morning again from now on!
I have just been looking at my walking stats from 24/11/2023 until yesterday and even with 2 sick days and yesterday I have still averaged 11002 for the past 31 days so way better then the rest of the year and 1002 steps a day more than my original target of 1000 steps a day so I’m pretty happy with my walking progress at the end of the year even though it hasn’t led to a any real weight loss (0.1kgs) at the moment I am definitely feeling a 1000 times better than this time last month and I have noticed a big difference in my fitness levels and my asthma is way better than it has been for a long time and I have way less aches and pains than I used to especially first thing in the morning and apart from last night my back pain has pretty much gone 🙂 I can also see that my body composition is changing for the better and my clothes are starting to get baggier which is a really good indication that I am losing body fat even if I am not losing weight so its a really good start to getting lighter and fitter!
I am glad that I starting building up my walking this month as it has given me a really good base fitness to build on next year and means that I can hit the ground running next week when I start sprints and weight training on top of the walking.
Looking back at my weight before I started walking consistently I was 109.3kgs on 16th November so even if I stat at my current weight of 107.7kgs I will have dropped 1.6kgs in just over a month but I am hoping that I can get back to about 106kgs before the end of the year but we will see.
Looking back to the start of last year I was 107.5kgs at the start of the year so I want to start next year at least lighter than I was so after today I will get back to walking again and stop drinking the fizzy drinks again and ride the bike every day to try and get under 107.5kgs again.
Considering how injured I have been this whole year I am pretty happy at how I have finished the year strongly and I am hopeful that I will make some real progress next year.
