So I didn’t get home until 22:00 last night and I then had to do some chores in the house so I didn’t get to bed until 23:00 so I decided that I would not walk first thing and get the steps in a lunch time and after work tonight instead as I need sleep!
I am starting to feel much better now so I will try and get out on the mtb tomorrow and Sunday to start actually doing more of the beast training from next week now I am over whatever I had! I will also get my flat organised and cleaned today as it is a state from a week or so of neglect! Getting it done today will mean that I can concentrate on my fitness goals and also live more stress free as at the moment my flat is getting on my nerves!
On Sunday I need to start sorting my garage out as I really need to get my motorbike sorted so that I can either start using it or get it sold! Either way it will actually be working instead of sitting in the garage rotting 🙁
I also need to clear space to fit the not needed club bikes as the new club bikes are arriving next week so we need to clear space for them by getting rid of the unwanted bikes!
This lunch time I got my step count up to 2000 steps by cleaning my flat and fixing a seized bearing on my Curtis Race bike! The bearing now is not seized but it does still sound like crap so I have bought a steel Enduro bearing from Wiggle that will arrive tomorrow to replace it as the bearing seems to have blown out of the back of the race a bit so its knackered! I will buy a new bearing for the hub before the season starts so that the wheel will feel brand new for the season!
I have jsut been looking on facebook and found that the river path has now re-opened so that makes my walks a lot more enjoyable and way less stressful going forwards 🙂 It also makes the ride/ walk to work way better too as there is no need to be on a road most of the way 🙂
I decided to use my treadmill instead and work and walk as it was too cold to go out today 🙂 At the speed I’m walking at it will take me about 3 hours to get the other 8000 steps but its better than freezing to death 🙂
Found a bit of a problem in that the Fitbit doesn’t count your steps when you are working on computer as your arms aren’t moving. To get over this I have put the Fitbit in my waistband for tonight and I have bought a belt clip cover for it so that I can clip it to my waistband when on the treadmill. The fitbit is now counting steps almost normally so I amy get the steps done a bit faster now but it is still going to take about an hour.
It actually took about an hour and a half to get to 10000 steps but I got there and it wasn’t too bad to be honest. I am going to try and use the treadmill on a lower speed when I am working next week and see how many steps I can get in one shift. Due to noise I can only start about 10am so I will try walking from 10-12 and 2-4 and see how many steps I can get in those 4 hours! Tonight I was walking on level 4 but it was hard to consentrate and walk so I will most likely drop to level 2 to start with.
