So this morning I woke up at 5am as planned even though I was still feeling a bit crappy and I walked my Chase OS20 to the track and left it in the container so that I can ride the ebike to the track at lunch times to ride the BMX when I get there.
It was dark for the first 15 minutes of the walk which was a bit depressing as it means that winter is coming 🙁
Apart from being annoyed that it was dark the walk was pretty enjoyable and even with the bike it was pretty easy so my fitness is deffo getting better 🙂
When I got to the track I had a quick roll around the track to see if the Surron kids that got stopped from using the track last night had been back and it looks like they hadn’t been back which is good! I then put the bike into the container and then walked home which was really uneventful.
So as you can see from the summary on the left I walked for 1:10:00 and covered 4.21 miles for 8040 steps, gained 485 ft and burned 831 cals so not a bd start to the day!
At lunch time I will go up to the track on the ebike and then leave my helmet, shoes and gloves in the container with the bike so that I don’t have to keep carrying them with me. Before I ride to the track I need to check the front brake on the ebike as I think the cable snapped yesterday when I was riding to the office as I had to break hard while going down the hill by my house as a car decided that they wanted to come through bridge tunnel at the bottom of the road while I was going through it! As the track is at the top of a really steep and high hill I will most likely need both brakes on the way home so I will need to sort it!
Unfortunately I was so focussed on taking the bike to the container that I forgot my weigh-in this morning so I will have to weigh-in tomorrow morning instead.
At lunch today I got dresses and rode the ebike to the track and did some first straights to test out the new bars. I really like how the bike rides now and I don’t think that I need to mess with the bars any more.
The bike felt fast and handled even better than it did before and I was able to corner better as well which is a bonus! The bike manuals a lot faster now too as I guess that I am more hunched over so the manuals are a lot less floaty than they were before!
The ride to the track was also pretty enjoyable today on the e-bike and only took about 15 minutes so I had at least 1 hour to ride before I had to head home which is plenty of time as I am already warmed up from the ride to the track so I can pretty much start riding as soon as I get the bike out of the container and kit up!
The ebike is actually faster than driving up so I think that I will continue to ride up even when my car is MOT’ed on the 7th September and I can drive again.
The ride home is also way faster than it is in the car as its downhill all the way and I can average about 20mph all the way home 🙂 Especially as. the front brake on the ebike is still pretty dodgy!
Surprisingly my step count is still pretty low (10184 Steps compared to 8000+ at 7am this morning!) so I need to walk about a bit more for the rest of the day!
