This morning I got up as planned and got ready and went out for a ride on my Mountain Bike as planned:
I did the semi long ride along the two tunnels to the riding center at Wellow and then turned around at their gate and rode back home.
I took it pretty easy as I didn’t want to overdo it after racing the day before but as it was I felt pretty good to be fair! I was riding for 46.40 minutes and had average speed of 13.7 mph and top speed of 22.7 mph so I wasn’t breaking any pb’s this morning.
I got home just in time to start work so that worked out well. Then at 9:30 ish my Chase RSP 2.0 Pro XXL+ bike arrived so I opened it and got it onto the bike stand and removed all of the parts that I wasn’t going to use with black parts that I had in the parts box.
I had to order some more bits as I don’t have a front loader stem and I didn’t have a 42t Chain ring to go on it either. I also had to buy a new locking ring for the rear hub as the one that came on the hub was knackered.
I also found out that I am too fat for the Sinz carbon forks that were on the bike as they have a 195lb weight limit and I am way over that at the moment! So I have put on a set of forks I had in the parts bin which I think are Odyssey R32 forks.
I then decided that I would build up my current hubs onto OS20 rims so I bought some Excess XLC OS20 Rims from Urban AIR to build up as they have a braking surface on the rear rim so I will keep the Alien Nation Rims to build up when I build up the a decent disk hub set when I build up the Standard OS20 frame.
As the Chase is in bits I have taken the cranks off of it to clean them up and hung whats left of the bike on the wall while I wait for all the parts to arrive to build it up.
The stem is temporary until I get the new Front Loader stem which should arrive tomorrow. In my opinion the bike looks better already in black and chrome not Black, Red and chrome as it was before! I will have to change that brake as well as the one on there is massive!
In the evening I sat in front of the computer taking all of the spokes off of the wheels and cleaning the Profile Mini Hubs ready for the wheel build:
The hubs will need a service before they are built up but luckily I have a new set of sprag and pulls to go in them so I will service the hubs and fit them ready for my wheel builder to build them onto the Excess rims when they arrive.
