Wasted Week

This week has been a bit of a waste walking wise as I haven’t been able to hit 10000 steps at all this week mainly due to my feet being really painful still.

Monday I walked to the office and back but my knee, legs and feet were hurting so I only managed 8763 steps.

Tuesday I was really hurting so I rested apart from doing some housework so I only managed 2309 steps.

Wednesday I spent all day tidying and organising my flat but I managed to 7066 steps which is impressive as I didn’t leave the flat all day. I also have a super clean and organised flat to boot.

Thursday I was planning to walk after walk but ended up having to urgently go into the office at 16:30 so I made the mistake of riding the BMX in as it was faster than working and I have hurt my wrist and shoulder again! I also had to work all evening so I managed 3004 steps on top of the bike riding.

I have been working since 5am but I am taking the afternoon off to make up for all of the extra hours last night and this morning to make up for it so I will try and get my steps in today and try and start my 10000 Step challenge again.

Hopefully my body is starting to get used to the walking again so it should be easier to start walking every day soon! I think last weekend I went a bit crazy and overdid the walking after 2 weeks of inactivity which was not a great idea. And I paid for it and got injured again!

Yesterday also proved that I need to stay off of the bike for a while yet. It also showed that the 20″ isn’t the best bike for riding to the office either so I am going to take it to the container and bring the Jump bike back to hang on the wall as it is way more expensive than the 20″ so I would rather keep it in the house where I can keep an eye on it and also it looks better on the wall as well 🙂 I also need to go through the jump bike and see what damage it has after the crash as I haven’t really looked it over apart from swapping out the grips. One of my friends rode it the other day and he thinks that the bars are bent so I need to test it and decide if I need to buy new bars or not.

I was planning to walk up to the track and pick up my Meybo 24″ from the container when I finish at lunch time but I think that I will drive up so that I can take the 20″ and pick up the Cruiser and the Jump bike at the same time. I need to break the Meybo down and put the bits onto the Yess ready to start riding it. I was also going to lend it to my friend so that it is out of the house and I don’t want to ride it any time soon.

I am crazy to ride the road bike outside but after the ride yesterday I think that I stick to the smart trainer instead for now.

For the rest of this month I keep my focus on walking in the mornings and maybe do a couple of Zwift rides at weekends for now. I am thinking that by next month my shoulder will be stronger and I can maybe add some lunchtime road rides into the mix to add some added overload and lose some more weight! I have to be honest I find Zwift way harder than riding outside so using outdoor rides to the mix will hopefully make Zwift rides as bit easier too.
