Post Covid weigh in

sick

Since I got back from London at the weekend I felt steadily worse and worse until Friday I was experiencing full Covid symptoms and had to go back to bed almost immediately after starting work Friday morning 🙁

Monday and Tuesday were spent recovering from the Weekends racing. I also took a long lunch on Tuesday and went into Crucial and bought a Pure v6 Pro XL Cruiser frame to try out as I have always wanted to try one and I also went to my friend’s house and picked up my Curtis Cruiser to take it to Curtis on Wednesday afternoon.

Wednesday I had booked the afternoon off and I took my Current Curtis Cruiser Frame to Gary so that he could take some measurements so that the new frame would be the same as the old one. While I was there he also replaced the stickers as my friends son is racing the bike at the Worlds in Nantes next month so he wanted it to be looking its best as he is a team rider. I also let Gary know that I am not racing the Worlds this year due to the hernia and asked for the frame to be put back until December so that it can now be my 50th present. Super happy with how the Cruiser looks:

I spent all of Friday as a sweaty, dozy, wheezy, coughing mess and literally couldn’t even watch Netflix fully as I kept falling asleep! I was still feeling bad on Saturday but I was at least able to breathe again more or less normally and was coughing less. On Sunday I was actually able to get out of bed and do a tiny bit of house work and do a little bit of maintenance on a couple of my bikes but that really hurt and I had to go back to sleep afterwards!! I had to take the last of the parts off of the S&M and get that built up as my friend who is buying it wanted to pick it up yesterday. I have also got the Pure 90% built up but I have had to buy a new brake calliper as the spring on the drive side of my current calliper has totally lost tension so the spring keeps coming away from the calliper arm so that side has no pressure to push the brake block off of the rim so it just constantly rubs. I bought a new one and it should be here later this week so it will then be 100% built and ready to ride. It’s not a big deal as I am not ready to ride yet so its probably a good thing to keep me off of the bike. I have also ordered a 45mm sei stem to try and make the bike a little shorter as the top tube is 0.5 inches bigger than the frames that I am most comfortable riding.

During the week I had also bought some FitBit Aria Air Scales as my old scales were totally borked! So Yesterday I managed to open them up and get them setup which was pretty simple and this morning I did my first weigh-in and I was 106.8kgs so having covid has helped me lose 2 kgs this week 🙂 I have also been reading up on weigh-in’s and have found that weighing in on a Wednesday is the most reliable day to measure your weight if you work a traditional weekend off work pattern which I do so I will start doing my weigh ins from Wednesday this week to see if it gets any better.
