Revised Training

Due to the ab strain that I got yesterday I have decided to revise my training this week and stay off of the bike until Friday to give myself as much time as possible to heal before racing at the Peckham National this weekend.

As I am hurt I have decided to try and walk as much as possible this week to try and stay active and burn some calories as well as hopefully keep blood flowing to the injured muscles to aid recovery. I also want to ice my abs as much as possible to help with the recovery.

I am going out later today so I will be able to gauge how the ab feel when I am walking before starting to walk more starting tomorrow. I am planning to re-introduce my 10000 Steps a say goal back into my daily routine as I am not losing any significant weight training so hopefully re-adding the walking will help me to lose a bit of weight as well as lightly stretching my back and legs and help with my digestion as well. I am also missing the increased motivation and elevated mood that I felt before as well as the added relaxation and stress relief I gained from walking. I plan to start walking 10000 steps again from Today and want to keep it a s lifestyle habit from now on as my life is much better with the walking than without it! I have also decided that once I return to riding the bike I want to start riding/ walking to the track more as well as I have been really lazy recently and always take the car when I could easily ride/ walk instead!

I have also noticed that when I do not have a training session or gates in the evening I am basically lunching out on the sofa all night, wasting my free time and not making the most of the light evenings and better weather! Doing the 10000 Steps Challenge again will mean that I can go for a walk after work and reduce the time that I am wasting watching TV.

I have just downloaded a pedometer app for my phone as I don’t have a fitbit at the moment so I will use the app to track my steps for now.
