I woke up at 5am and got showered and ready and then rode the Jump bike into the office, did some work and then rode home so that I was back hime for 7:30.
The ride was really nice this morning although it is a lot busier at 6am than it used to be. The ride home was even more stressful and I had a run in with a road cyclist who didn’t want to wait for me to get through a single track part of the path and when he realised that I wasn’t stopping he did all he could to make my life difficult so I slowed down and thanked him which really wound him up as he was obviously on for a good Strava time 🙂
At lunch time I washed and dried my bike and then drove to my parents and swapped cars ready to leave for Scotland as early as possible in the morning.
I got a call yesterday from Crucial to say that they didn’t have the 41t chain ring that I ordered so I got a refund and then I have borrowed one from a friend to test out the 41×18 gearing on the Sunday instead! I will race on 36×16 on the Saturday and then race on the 41×18 on the Sunday to see if there is any difference in my gate and lap times between the 2 days. I also swapped my Son’s Staystong front wheel for my Profile Elite front wheel which has just had the bearings replaced and had a bit of a realignment done so it is like new. I also fitted the S&M TrackMark folding Tyre instead of the Tioga Power Block that I had on the Staystrong Wheel as it is lighter than the power block and seems to slip less on the gate than the power block too! I left the 1.60 power block on the back as I prefer it to the S&M on the back.
When I finish work I need to pack my clothes and then about 20:30 I need to pick up my Son and fuel up the car and then we are ready to sleep and then get up about 5am, pack the car and start the drive to Scotland so that we get to the hotel for check in at 3pm and then we can shower and change ready to go to the track for practice at about 5pm.
