Late Weigh-in

weigh-in

I woke up at 5am to go to the gym as planned but was feeling sore from riding yesterday so I decided to leave the gym until next week after the Regional as I will not get any benefit from it really and I haven’t been to the gym yet so another week will make no difference! Other than the soreness I am feeling pretty good today and the work I did on the flat has made it much more bearable to live in.

I forgot to weigh in yesterday when I woke up as I was focused on getting ready to go to the track so I did my weigh in this morning instead. I was pleasantly surprised to see that I have dropped 1.1kgs this week although I have been riding the bike a lot. I am now 0.1 heavier than my lightest weigh this year which was on 28/02/2022 so a pretty good start to the summer 🙂

When you look at it as my weight this year I have also dropped half a kg this year which is not a lot but it is a loss I suppose 🙂

I spoke to my friend yesterday at the track and he is going to swap the axle’s over in my 20″ wheel so that I can try and double bike on Sunday which will be cool. I have also found a transponder to borrow for the 20″ too so that saves me another £40 🙂

I am on a half day today so I am planning to go to the track about 2pm and work on my jumping on the jump bike. I want to be able to comfortably jump the 2nd and 3rd jumps on the 3rd straight by the weekend so that I can get through the straight without hurting my knee with manuals. I am hoping that with a couple hours practice I will be able to get the jumps dialled on the jump bike then I can try and sack-up and send them on the Cruiser Wednesday after work. This will leave Thursday to work on the 2nd and 4th straights ready for a rest day on Friday and then Matt Eaton Training on the Saturday before racing on the Sunday.

The 33t Sprocket finally arrived this morning at 11:20am, good work DPD it was only 5 days late!!!

I have decided to hold off on Building the Zircus as the 19mm Euro BB that I have to use is old and the threads look like they are a bit cross threaded so I have bought a new Profile 19mm Euro BB Source BMX, they only had polished so polished it is! The sprocket and cranks are polished as well so it should look OK to be honest.

The BB will be here tomorrow so I can build the bike up tonight and when the bb arrives I can finish it off! Then I may ride it Friday lunchtime as a test but take it easy as Friday is my rest day.

So Hermes ruined my day as they were supposed to deliver my new bars and race pants at 14:30 and they managed to get here for 17:30 so there was no time to get to the track before the training session started so no riding today 🙁

On a positive note the bars look and feel really good for the price and will look really good on the Sunday Wave C 24″!

I have changed my plans so I will try and get up the track early in the morning for an hour before work to work on jumping a bit instead of doing it today. I am still not sure if I will be playing basketball tomorrow night yet or not so I may be racing tomorrow and I may not be.

I went to the track this evening and gave my Onyx 20″ rear wheel and my Profile elite 24″ wheels to the track and gave them to my friend. He is going to fit the 10mm axle on the Onyx Wheels for me to use it at the weekend and then change the bearings in the Profile Elites when he has a chance.

When I got back from the track I fitted the new bars to the Sunday Wave C 24″  this evening so that I could get the S&M bars off of the Sunday onto my Dialled MX20R as I have just paid to double bike at the weekend so I need a bit of practice on it before the weekend. I am really happy with how they look:

I am thinking that the bike needs chrome cranks as well so I will swap the new black ones for the Chrome Fit cranks on the club bike when I pick it up tomorrow to swap the frames over. I am currently boiling water to try and get the grips off of the old bars to put back on the New bars.

The grips actually came off way easier than I expected and went on just as easily on the new bars:

The bike definitely needs chrome cranks and to balance out all of the chrome on the front end but i really like the black and chrome look. I may even get a chrome seat post as well to add a little more chrome to the bike and also to get rid of the current seat post as it is really beaten up.

I also managed to get the front end of the Dialled MX20R put together with just the brake lever and axle washers missing. I am going to borrow a wheel from a friend until my wheel is ready at the weekend so that I can ride the 20″ a bit before I race it on Sunday! I want to practice swapping bikes as much as possible over the weekend to get used to going from the 24″ to the 20″ and back as I usually struggle with that!
