New wheel fitted to bike.

Work starts today!

I have just put a tyre and tube on my new back wheel (S&M Trackmark 24×1.75 tyre and  Tubolito tube) so I will get it on the bike in a bit and also swap out the tube in my front tyre for a tubolito as well then I will be running 2 x Trackmark tyres and 2x Tubolito’s too so I will have some of the lightest Cruiser tyres and the lightest tubes which should make the bike ride faster. Also the Onyx hub spins way better than the Profile elite hub that I am running at the moment that has blown out bearings in it so this should all help with the track speed.

I have been using a trackmark tyre on the front of my bike for about 6 months so far and it has been good so I don’t see why it wouldn’t be good on the back tyre too. It is a little bit bigger then the 1.6 powerblock that I normally use but I don’t think that it will make too much of a difference and the reduced rolling resistance should make up for the slightly higher gearing.

I have now built the bike up but have been too busy to clean it so it is a bit dusty from racing yesterday:

As I found out yesterday I really need to work on track skills especially my pumping and manuals if I am going to be in the mix come the Nationals in Cyclopark in a couple of weekends time. I am hoping that the new wheel will make it easier to maintain speed as it freewheels really well. Also sprints have now finished in Trow as my trining partner is now running his coaching sessions

I am on what I will be doing for the next month or so at the moment but it will be something like:

Day AM Lunch PM
Monday Manuals and Sprints Slow Road Bike Track with son (Manuals and pumping)
Tuesday Gym (Legs) Slow Road Bike Track with son (Jumps)
Wednesday Rest Slow Road Bike Bristol Gates/Racing
Thursday Manuals and Sprints Slow Road Bike Track with son (Jumps)
Friday Gym (Legs) Track (Full Laps) Rest
Saturday Slow Road Ride Gates Rest
Sunday Pump Track Road Bike Rest

I didn’t train this morning as I had an upset stomach which seems to be a bit better now but I am in the middle of sorting out my flat from the weekend so I will rest totally today and then hit the gym early in the morning and start my training schedule with a legs session.

After the gym I will most likely go into the office and sort out everything that I need to sort out there and then head home about 11 ish and then take my apple cider vinegar and at about 11:40 I will eat and then I will go out for a road ride at lunch time for an hour.

I am also going to start getting some slow road rides in to burn fat and try and drop weight I can also incorporate the ride into my ride home from the office as I can ride along the Bath to Bristol cycle path to The station at Bitton I think it is and back home is about an hour ride at a steady pace so that will be ideal as my office is on the river so I can take the river path and then jump on the Bath to Bristol cycle path and then ride to Bitton, turn around and ride home or back to the office depending if it is an in office day or not.
