Got the Dialled Bikes MX20R built up ready for testing tomorrow:
Today I woke up and took off the Profile Redneck XLT stem and the ODI longneck grips off of the MX20R. I decided to try and get the grips off without cutting them so that I can re-use them on another bike and found a really good tutorial on youtube which took literally 5 minutes to get the grips off and the ODI Vans lock on grips installed. The stem also took another 5 minutes to replace with a radio top load stem that I bought a couple of months ago for my cruiser and then never used. I also checked everything over and then put my clipless pedals onto the bike too. I also slammed the seat so that it felt more like a race bike than a freestyle/ jump bike.
The finished bike can be seen in the photo on the left. The bars look a bit high but I will sort that out over the next couple of rides so I am not too worried about it at the moment.
I am planning to meet my friend at the track after his training session has finished to test the bike out and do some gates tomorrow night so I will be able to test it out more then in simulated race conditions.
After going over the bike it was in a really great state of repair and condition so I am super happy with it!
I have to honest the white frame colour is actually growing on me so I may now and I am not really hating the red parts as much as I thought that I would! I still don’t really love the blue forks but I think I can live with them for now as long as the ride OK.
I think once the bike is built up with all black parts and a new set of Dialled decals it will look amazing so I think that I am going to leave it as it is! I can’t wait to ride the bike tomorrow.
I also stripped down my FTB Cruiser frame ready to swap out this evening for the Dialled MX24R frame.
Later on in the day I found out that my friend was not going to be able to come over tonight so we have arranged to meet at the track tomorrow night to swap the frames out.
