2017 – Wellness

Week 0 (13/11/17-19/11/17)

Took a rest day on Thursday 16/11/17 as I was sore after playing basketball the night before and also could not sleep until almost 1am so getting up at 4:30 the next morning would have been stupid. I am planning to get an extra hour on the exercise bike in on Saturday morning early to make up for the missed session.

Took another Rest day today as I am getting sick. I knew it was coming as my wife and son have been sick or the last 2 weeks so it was just a matter of time. I woke up with a sore throat and a cough and everything was aching so went back to sleep until 6am so no gym again this morning.

Went to Patchway on Sunday for a few hours which was good although I am really out of shape and can not make a full lap of the track yet!!! Not looking good for Sunday and I have a sore throat and blocked up face still.

Week 1 (20/11/17-26/11/17)

20/11/17 – Woke up at 5:30 to go to Bristol to do full laps but I had a really bad sore throat and blocked up nose so I figured that it would be better to stay in bed and rest. I did my weigh in as I didn’t do it yesterday and I was surprised to see that I have lost 1.5kgs this week. Not bad seeing I only exercised Monday and Tuesday at the gym and Wednesday played basketball and then a couple of hours at the track playing yesterday. I am stopping fizzy drinks again from today so the weight should hopefully drop off again as my knees are feeling the extra weight! As the day went on I felt worse and worse so I haven’t been on the bike today or to the gym and I can’t see me exercising tomorrow either the way I am feeling now.

23/11/17 – I actually woke up feeling well enough to go to the track this morning so I did although I am still a long way from 100%. Due to this and the fact the track was really wet and it was really windy I had a very lack luster training today. I have added more details in the bike training section of this site.

30/11/17 – Took a rest day today as I couldn’t sleep after basketball so I couldn’t wake up at 04.30 to go to the gym. I have a busy weekend of riding planned so I will need the rest day I think.

12/12/17 – Woke up at 4:30 to go to the gym but was really sore and tired so decided to take a rest day.
