Did gates this morning and rode my bike for the first time in about a week.

Need to ride more as I am back up to 105kgs so have put on all of the weight that I lost at the start of the year!!!

Gates was really good and I am definately getting faster again. I am snapping really quickly and my first 3 peddles are much better. Just need to get back to sprints to learn to spin for next season.

Stayed in bed again today as feeling rough still.

Went to Shepton Mallet pump track today as feeling much better but soon found that I wasn’t as well as I though I was. I managed about an hour of riding but was really blowing out of my arse and feeling really dizzy most of the time. On a positive note I got a new PB and fastest top speed of 29.1mph so not all bad.

Been sick for the past couple of weeks son not been riding. I did get to the track for about 30 minutes yesterday and did some first straights but had to cut the session short as my stomach was bad and had to rush home.

While I have been sick I have been planning the next few months as I am going to take a rest from racing and consentrate on getting fitter and faster for next season . I also need to save money by so I will mostly be riding my local tracks to save on petrol.

The idea is to hit the gym more as well as ride as much as possible. I have been talking to Crurtis Maniton about doing a training program for me so I am going to get as fit as possible for next season’s national series.

I have also sold my dialled cruiser and bought a dialled staystrong 20″ frame and some profile elite wheels to build up with the parts from the dialled to use to train on over the winter. I found that the year I mostly rode 20″ over the winter I got much fitter and faster than last winter where I only rode cruiser. The idea is to only ride the cruiser when I race over the winter and ride the 20″ the rest of the time. I am toying with the idea of doubling up at regionals next season to build up fitness and reduce the time sat around so I may well race the dialled as well.

I am going to keep he dialled staystrong 20″ that I have that has freestyle parts in it as my pump track/everyday bike and keep the new dialled 20″ as a race bike with clips as I am going to keep riding the track on clips not move to flats on it over the winter.

I am going to start back at the gym next week to give me a week to get over whatever I have.
