2017 Yess Type X Pro XL
Built up the bike in Crucial BMX on 20/04/17.
The new bike was better straight away and at my first regional on it (RD3 – Cornwall) I missed out on the A final by 1 place and won the B final convincingly so the change up was good. I have done much better for the rest of the year on the Yess.

Thrill Agent Pro Cruiser Team Addition
I got this bike built up as a training bike for the winter in August 2017 (around about the 20th I think) it was made up of left over bits from my bikes and my son’s bikes. It also had my training wheels that I was going to use on the Yess but didn’t bother as they were much thinner than my race wheels and some original SE landing gear forks that I bought off a friend.

Hubs – Stay Strong 36H Black with 16t Crupi Aluminium Cassette Cogs.

I used the Thrill for about 8 days and then swapped it for a brand new Ice F-118 cruiser frame with a friend from the bmx club. I took the dxr cranks off and put on some 170mm haro cranks from my sons Haro race lite. I sold it as it was too different to my Yess so I wasn’t really using it.
The Ice frame is currently stored in its box and I haven’t even looked at it properly yet but this is what a built up bike looks like.
I put the ICE frame on the internet and sold it on 22/10/17 so I no longer have it.
20?? Dialled Bikes MX24R
I bought this frame and stripped it and got it professionally powder coated as the paint it had was really rough. I wanted to use this frame over the winter to get used to riding chrome frames again and also it does not matter too much if it is cleaned every day or not. I also got some new wheels off of ebay with tyres and tubes and also second had shimano dxr 175mm cranks and brake system to leave the Yess semi built up to use for winter series races when needed.
It was built up and finished today (12/10/17). Here is a picture of it built up.
Wheels – Excess Chrome 24″ 36 hole (bought from Ebay).
Bottom Bracket – Sinz.
Cranks – Shimano DXR 175mm (bought off of facebook) with 37t Global Racing Rocket V2 4 bolt Chainring and Box spiral Chainring Bolts.
Pedals – Nukeproof Sam Hill.
Chain – KMC.
Seat – Box Echelon Large Race Saddle.
Headset – Box 2 headset
Stem – Crupi iBeam Stem (53mm)
Bars – Renthal Cruiser Bars 5.5″ rise

Brakes – Shimano BL-MX70 DXR Brake leaver (LH) and Shimano BR-MX70 DXR V Brake.
Cable – Crucial BMX cable
Tyres – Tioga Power Block 24×1.75 front and rear.
Here is a photo of the Dialled at Bath BMX Track.
The Dialled is now going to be sold and has been rebuilt with some of the parts from my 20″ Yess Type 0 bike and the parts from the Dialled have gone onto the Yess.
It currently has the following specs:

Forks: Elevn 24″ forks (black).
Wheels: Express 351 24″ wheelset (chrome) with 16t cog.
Tyres: Tioga Powerblock 24×1.75 (black).

Cranks: SEI 175mm Cranks with 37t Global Racing Chain ring and SEI chain ring bolts.
Pedals: Answer MPH Senior Pedals (white).
Bottom Bracket: SEI Sealed External Bottom Bracket (black).
I bought this bike off of ebay by accident on 6th October 2017 as I saw it was on for £150 which is basically the price of the frame. I put a maximum of £160 and won it with my initial bid of £150!!! I had to go to London to pick it up and when I saw the bike I gave the guy an extra £50 as it was such a good bike.
Here are the original pictures from ebay of the bike:
As I said above I have swapped out a lot of the parts with the parts that were on the Dialled MX24R and also added Renthal bars and new grips to make the bike as similar to the Yess 24″ as possible.
Here is how the Yess type O looks now after a wash from yesterday’s training in the mud.:
23/11/17 – Rode the Yess 20″ today and really not feeling it so I am contemplating selling it and keeping the Dialled 24″ as my second bike until I have the Curtis built up. I will ride my Yess 24″ tomorrow and see how I feel on that as I am coming back from the flu so I may just be feeling the effects of the flu. I may sell both the 20″ Yess and the dialled 24″ and just keep the Yess 24″ and then I will have more cash to spend on the Curtis to get it built up quicker.
Curtis RACELITE 24″
Got some photo’s from Gary at Curtis Bikes to say that my frame is out of the Jig and should be ready for paining later this week. Here are the photo’s he sent:
End of Year Bike plans.
At the moment I have My Yess Type X 24″ Cruiser, Dialled MX24R and my Yess Type O 20″. I haven’t been enjoying riding the Yess Type O for the last couple of weeks so I got back on the Type X and I definitely feel more comfortable on it and I have decided that I want to sell the Dialled and the Type O and just ride the Type X. I plan to swap the DXR cranks off of the Type O onto the type X and then sell the Type O with the Cliq cranks that are on the Type X at the moment.
I am going to just ride the Yess Type X for a while to get used to riding it and only it. I may build up the Curtis ready for the Brits next year or I may hold off until winter so that I can use the winter to get used to riding the Curtis.
I have decided that I am going to sell the 20″ yess and stick to the 24″ bikes for now as I am not feeling the 20″ at the moment and it is feeling really weird to ride. I have swapped the cranks from the 20″ onto the 24″ so that it now has the Shimano DXR cranks on it and not the Cliq cranks that were on it. I will get the Yess 20″ ready to sell and onto the internet this week I am just deciding it I sell the frame and keeps the parts or sell the complete bike.
19/12/17
I rode the 20″ yesterday and really didn’t enjoy it so i have broken it down and I am selling the parts that I will not be using on the Curtis build. I have already sold the bars so for the Curtis build I now only need to buy 20mm wheels.
I have decided that for the moment I will keep the Yess 24″ and the Curtis as I really like the Yess 24″ so don’t want to sell it at the moment. I am thinking that I may have another season on the Yess before building up the Curtis so that i get used to one bike before changing again. The other option is to sell the Yess and build the Curtis up and get used to the Curtis and then stay with that for the next 10 years.
26/12/17
I have added a couple more bikes to the stable. One is my old DK Elite Cruiser that I sold to a friend this time last year and he was selling it again as he has ridden it probably 5 times this year and so he was selling it. At the moment I am going to use the bike for parts for the Curtis as it has pretty much new Shimano DXR 175mm cranks and also Really good wheels with 20mm Box through hubs that I am going to use build up the Curtis until I can save the money for a new 20mm Onyx wheel build.
The picture is showing the bike after i have swapped out the DXR cranks for my spare Cliq cranks from my 20″. I have now removed the wheels as well and I am going to store the bike minus the wheels in my parents garage for a bit while I use the wheels.
I am not sure if I will sell it afterwards or keep it as a play bike to ride to work and also play on pump tracks when I don’t want to rinde the 20″.
The Second bike that I picked up this morning is a Subrosa freestyle bike. I am not really sure the year or the model but the guy that I bought it off of seemed to think that it was a 2012.
I have already swapped the seat for a Total seat that I bought last year for £4 that I wasn’t sure what to do with so the bike is looking better already.
It needs new grips and a new chain at some point but is usable as it is. I plan to use this for the winter to ride to work and to pick up my son from school. I also want to ride it in the skatepark as much as possible to work on my Manuals and bunny hops and not wreck my race bikes. The idea for this bike s to use and abuse it over the rest of the winter and then if I am enjoying riding park I will give this bike to my Son or my nephew and but a new better park bike later in the year. I also want to use it on the pump tracks as well to practice jumping as much as possible. I am not really too keen on the colour of this bike but it doesn’t matter as it is basically just a cheap run around for the winter so I can live with it. I am going to have to buy new grips and tyres as they have gone hard so will not last too much longer. I also want to change the chain for a new one so I know that it will not snap on me.
I have just bought some Stolen Team flangless grips and a Clarks half link Chain from Chain reaction so in total the bike has cost me a bit under £100 which isn’t too bad. The new bits will be here by the weekend hopefully.
I will wait until next month if I can to change the tyres and then I will buy 2 Tall Order Wall ride tyres as they are supposed to be good all around tyres.
