10000 Steps: Days 16-18 – Nothing new to report
Not much to report on the 10000 steps for the past few days. I have managed to to the steps but have been doing the steps in bits during the day. I plan to do a walk again in the morning to get my steps done before work so that I don’t have to get them done in the evening!
I am still loving the barefoot shoes and I am going to test my new injinji no-show performance run socks that arrived yesterday. I have been wearing the socks all day and they are feeling good after an initial period of adjustment and weirdness as all your toes are in individual “fingers” as the socks are like gloves.
After the initial weirdness the socks have felt really good although the toe compartments are a little tight with hopefully over time they will stretch out a bit.
I have just completed my 10000 steps for the day and the socks feel really good so I think I will be buying a few more pairs next month and getting rid of some of my old socks to make room for them.
The last over the past few days I have done 10605, 11330, and 10102 (and counting steps) so nothing really to write home about and I didn’t do any walks of more than 30 minutes really so I did not record them with Strava.
As I have already said I will get up early in the morning and get my 10000 steps done before work so that I can relax in the evening and get my bike ready sprints Tuesday morning. I also need to hunt in the garage for my sprint stand as I can’t remember where I left it and it will be needed for sprints too. I also need to try and fit my cool-down seat post to the Curtis as I couldn’t get it to fit the last time that I tried.
I plan to do a warmup by riding to the carpark near my house and then 3 x 30m, 3 x 60m and 3x 100m and then cool down by riding home again. If I have time I may go for a little walk afterwards to cool down a bit more. I am also going to try and get out on the road bike for 30 minutes in my lunch break to get a bit more aerobic exercise in to help with the weight loss! I am also missing not riding the road bike as well so I may as well make the most of the good weather now! In 25-30 minutes I can ride to Midford and back along the 2 tunnels so it gives me a good workout and also means that I have a little time left over to eat and get showered and changed before going back to work.
