10000 Steps: Day 21 – Weigh in

I woke up late at 7:00 am as I was really tired from getting the last 2k steps in after work last night, so I didn’t get my morning walk in unfortunately! As I was rushed getting ready for work and getting my son ready for school,  I managed to forgot to do my weigh in!  I ended up doing my weigh in about 10:00 after drinking a fair bit of water so, my weigh in total could have been better (if I had remembered to do it when I woke up) but I was still down under 105 kgs for the first time this year so moving in the right direction at 104.9kgs, even if it is slow progress, it is still progress! It just shows that being consistent

Physically I am feeling pretty good! I have been really tired from finishing walks late so I haven’t been getting in the morning to walk which is annoying as it means that I had to do 8k steps again after work when all I want to go is go to bed! We ended up getting home from the walk at around 21:30 which sucks and to top it all off I forgot to record the walk in Strava so I have no record of the evening walk either!! We also found out that walking at this time of year along the river is not very pleasant due to the midges and we aborted our usual route and  cut through the park on Brassmill Lane and walked along Brassmill Lane and then back along the Upper Bristol Road and then back behind the park and back to the coop to pick up shopping and then home. It was actually a really nice route that I may take again!

This meant that we ate at around 22:00, which made it hard to switch off and sleep so I got to sleep at way past 23:00 which was not ideal!

I managed to get 10419 steps done for the day which is OK but the steps were loaded later in the day as  I didn’t walk early so, by 19:30 I had only completed around 2000 steps which left a long walk after I finished work to make the 10000 step goal for the day! This is not ideal as it leaves very little time for anything else but I am please that I did it and didn’t just say screw it and give up.

On the walk my heels started to hurt and when I got home I noticed that my heels were all starting to crack so I will have to keep an eye on that before it gets worse and becomes a problem! That being said I am super happy with the new socks and the barefoot shoes and my knee is feeling way better and it does not bother me at all when I am walking any more which is amazing and my shin splints have totally disappeared so I do not need the calf sleeves any more! I am going to give the calf sleeves to my brother as he uses them when he runs to stop shin splints so he will get some use from them!

I now need to get some short cycling shorts so that I can walk in shorts as the weather is getting so much better it is definitely shorts weather now!
