Weigh-in

10000 Steps: Day 11 – Impromptu weigh in and day 2 in the barefoot shoes.

I woke up and decided to have a weigh in now as I will be on night shifts on Wednesday so it is hard to get an accurate weight when on night shifts as my eating schedule is way different. I was surprised to see that I had lost another 0.6 kgs since my last weigh in as it was only 4 days ago and I haven’t really done much as I have been sick! I was 105.8kgs on Wednesday morning and I am now 105.2kgs on Sunday morning which is pretty good.

I have found my spreadsheet of weigh-ins from the start of the year and I am now below the weight that I was on January 1st this year so I am starting to move in the right direction! Although I am still just over 1kgs heavier than I was when I was at my lightest this year at 104.1kgs on my birthday (08/01/2021).

As you can see my weight loss at the start of the year was pretty good as I was on holiday and I was riding my road bike every day. By the 27/01/2021 I had started to gain weight again due to the shifts and not riding consistently again! My weight then started to fluctuate until I started walking more consistently and this month while I have been consistently walking my weight has been dropping steadily. If I can maintain walking consistently and continue to lose around 0.5kgs a week as I have been doing, I should be able to get to my goal weight if 80kgs by this time next year so by the end of my 365 day challenge of walking every day should pretty much coincide with me hitting my weight goal. This being said once I start riding BMX more consistently and racing starts again my weight should drop more quickly so I am hoping to reach my goal weight of 80kgs by the end of the year.

My ex wife came to visit this morning for breakfast and then myself and my son walked her home and then went for a walk to make up my 10000 steps early as I had to work at 19:30. We walked around the park and then too a different route through Weston Village back home which was nice and there was way less traffic and less people too which was nice.

We ended up walking 4.86 miles in 1:30:45.

The weather was really good today it was sunny and warm but not too warm so it was really pleasant. As we walked somewhere new we had a nice time looking at the massive houses that we hadn’t seen before which my Son loved as he is thinking of being an architect when he leaves University so it made the walk even more enjoyable as he was not wanting to get home to play games.

I wore the barefoot shoes again and again had no issues with shin splints or foot or knee pain so they are now my favourite shoes already after using them for 2 days! The only issue now is that my socks are annoying me now so I will have to buy some new ones when I get paid on Thursday!

When we got home I pretty much chilled on the sofa until it was time to work but I still managed to do over 12000 steps for the day.

steps

As you can see from the screen shot I did 12236 steps today which is pretty good. I am going to make an effort to wake up and go straight out and walk to get my 10000 steps in again early so that I can relax again for the rest of the day as I preferred doing the steps early compared to having to squeeze them in later!
